Oldham Athletic (A) - EFL Trophy

Interesting on the post match interviews that they are bigging this game up.

An opportunity for the squad to excel again.

A winning draw on penalties - could be the most irrelevant penalty shoot-out ever 😂

What a game, missed pen, 8 goals, hit post, hit bar, missed chances for both teams.  What a great way to spend a Tuesday night and all for £10 ! home for 9-30, a bacon sarnie and a brew watching the

  • Shame about conceding a couple, but this has been a great run-out for our second string. This is easily the strongest squad we've had since Football Ventures took over, and the youth system is bearing

Surely Forino gets some minutes. That way, Johnston gets a break, as well. Not sure who goes on the left hand side, though.

Fair enough. Johnston could do with a break, though. Unfortunately, Sam Inwood has been loaned out.

If toal and Forino are out, and if Forrester isn't fit, can't think who'd play alongside Johnston

Feels like the only options were Christie or cogley

The two youngsters that could have come in to the defence, Smith and Inwood are out on loan. If he wants to give Johnston a break then suppose Christie or Cogley could go CB and Tutu RB. Christie put in one hell of shift in on Saturday though.

Taylor can come in for Johnston but that leaves left back

Wild excitement.

Are we already confirmed as group winners? Anyway, home tie if so.

On for a treble us.

I think we can only drop to 2nd if Oldham beat us by 3 goals.

Where’s your ambition and positivity?

Surely we’re striving for the sextuple 😁 (“Winning 6 trophies is a rare and significant achievement in football”)

- L1

- FA Cup

- EFL Trophy

- Youth cup winners

- B team League champions

- Womens tier 6 champions

The selection of the side, is more intriguing than the game itself!

Are the players who’ve been out injured fit enough to start? He’s said Forrester will start.

Do any of Saturdays starters get a spot?

Do we delve into B team/youth team? Some were training with the squad yesterday.

                        Miller

Cogley.   Forrester  Johnston.  Taylor

                Sharples-Ahmed

           Morley.           Dempsey

Warren.                                    Tutu

                         Dalby

No problem with that , tho I would expect Dalby , Forss , Randall , McAtee , Tutu , Cissoko , Morley , Dempsey  to play so maybe a 4- 6-2  formation ???

There's no game for 11 days after tonight.  Yes I'd leave out all the first teamers if it was an option to avoid injury, but there's plenty of time for a break coming up if we're just talking about tiredness.

Its wierd how we all think players need a break these days, they never used to, the team only changed if there were injuries and that applied to all the Sherpa Van Trophy games, cup replays, 1st and 2nd leg cup ties etc.

Did we ever find out who the 3rd call up was after Forino and Sheehan?  Or was it Stevenage that got it called off?

Somebody called T. Oal apparently , must be a kid in the reserves.

Ah yes, forgot about him.  I think the 3rd was Forino as in its his first of the season, my mistake

Owdam 1

BWFC 3

Randall 2 & Morley....

Why risk Johnston with the form he is in with a game that means nothing just play someone out of the youth team if there is no one available

because there all suppose to be athletes these days and not cart horses can’t play to many games or on a shitty pitch and there hamstrings go pop .
