Well that was utter rubbish. We looked nothing like promotion candidates today. Backs to the wall, we defended quite well but away from home we struggle to control the game. Our midfield was anonymous today. Simons edging it, both his cards were harsh, but its a modern tactic to pretend your injured when tackled and both resulted in cards.

SS should have changed the midfield before the sending off by swaping either of Morley.or dempsey, both of whom were poor for eharehan.

Got battered by a physical side and lucky to get a point.

SS still doing little to prove his in game tactics today.

Morley, can't tackle or run forward with the ball, he's not "dynamic or robust"

Dempsey was our best player first half, but he is still lacking match fitness so tires second half. But Morely and Simons were poor so it had been crying out for a change much earlier. Plans then had to change quickly because of the red, but they didnt work out as Dalby was hopeless when he came on.

We really missed Sheehan in the middle

Playing Cogley is like giving them an extra player, genuinely shocking, got turned inside out, nearly sent off himself and then made an awful pass leading to Simons getting red carded.

Yep manager didnt help us today Morley was a strange start then to slow to make adjustments and subs when game  was obviously slipping away

Never had real control without Shennan, generall poor alround today.

Good point after a dodgy second half, not a fan of those challenges being two yellows, is what it is though, point away and wins at home will do.

Agreed its a good point, .  But the season didn't start today unfortunately.  Dropped 2 points last week and currently averaging less than a point a game away and 2.33 at home.  If we carry on we'll get 73 or 74 points, might get top 6 but surely the target has to be top 2.

January window very important if we want promotion, need to replace JDC, he's being left behind, average L1 player we need better !!!

I'd forgotten how it feels to be 1-0 up away, and having to withstand actual pressure.  I wasn't watching, just relying on Marc Iles updates, and that was painful.  But it feels strangely positive to go away, play poorly (listening to comments etc) and not lose.  I'd be interested to know when we last withstood a load of pressure and corners away and didn't lose, it feels like what other teams do and we don't.

Changes should have been made at 55 mins. Dalby for Burstow, Erahon for Dempsey, Forss for Tutu and McAtee against his old club. We were overrun from just after we scored. Conway trying that cocky dribble in a central position and losing it cost us the goal. Cogley looked to be unfit and was the main weak link today. Luton knew it and they threw everything at his position where confusingly allowed so much space to the winger that beat him every time. Duberry had three players on him as soon as he touched the ball.

Overall, a good fighting performance and good point after being second best for most of the match.

This set of three aways (Luton, Mansfield, Wycombe) are a stern test of whether we're real contenders or not. A 4 point return from them wouldn't be bad, 1 today was as much as I expected, in the end a decent enough result

Yes, there was no pressure to win today, same as Huddersfield.  Wycombe another.  Mansfield a different type of test.  We've brought it on ourselves to have to win at Mansfield by getting ourselves into a situation where we're behind the curve.

I think it's probably about par considering how we've performed across the season. Nothing really to get worked up or excited about.

Overall to take 8 points from a run of Huddersfield-Cardiff-Bradford-Luton is pretty good. But we're entering December in 6th.

A bit surprised at the negativity on here. All of us who watched it in the pub agreed it's a good point that we would have taken before the game.

If today was a barometer for where we are in the promotion race, we are miles off it. That said, there are no stand out sides that look like running away with it, it is a poor standard. Which makes me wince at the thought of us getting promoted. The wholesale changes and spending required to even stay in the championship would be collosal.

Cross that bridge......I guess?

Miles off who exactly? Do you see Stevenage, Lincoln, Bradford and Stockport as miles better than us?

Cannot comment on the game having not watched it but we are becoming a team that is hard to beat.

A bit more like his Plymouth side that went up.

Not always convincing, but finding a way.

There will always be things we can do better- including the manager- but I do think we're slowly developing a tougher mentality.

As for Cardiff- they may well win the league, but the idea that it is simply a battle for second is far too premature, and I'd be properly pissed off if we felt that way as a club.

I assume you are in a glass half empty kind of mood or just that way generally?

Have you run over a cat?

😁

On what planet do people think we were just going to steamroller a very good Luton team away from home?

At the end of the season we will look back at this as a great result.

I am unconvinced by Cardiff this season will go to the end with regards to promotion as no real stand out team atm.

I thought first 15 mins we were very good great goal and passing the ball well then we seemed to panic passing going astray and let Luton into the game it was never going to be a walk over today we are still in for promotion only lost 3 and only 3 points off top (obviously top two have game in hand ) but we are not getting the away wins we need at the moment, next transfer window will be crucial

Very few positives today, surely. The bookies still fancy us though

Such a disappointment for me, despite everything - new manager - new team etc I just get the feeling that we’ll be the ‘nearly men’ this season

It was bad enough once, never mind twice

Ever since someone on here met Burstow and called him "Nathan" he has been very poor, gets worse every match and today he was awful.

Whoever you were??? If you see him again just ignore him.

Good point away from home.

The performance wasn't great apart from the first 15 minutes. After we scored I thought we struggled a bit and were a bit sloppy keeping possession. That said we had a great chance to go 2-0 up with ACDs diving header.

Thought the sending off was very harsh.

Overall I'd say it's a decent enough point.

Come On You Whites!!!
