DaveTheRave Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 Good point away from home. The performance wasn't great apart from the first 15 minutes. After we scored I thought we struggled a bit and were a bit sloppy keeping possession. That said we had a great chance to go 2-0 up with ACDs diving header. Thought the sending off was very harsh. Overall I'd say it's a decent enough point. Come On You Whites!!! Quote

We’re hardly detached. The sides above us don’t look better than us. And the Championship comparison is utter nonsense. But I suspect you know that, hence you questioning your own bizarre question. Farnywhite Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 (edited) The positive today was we ground a draw out apart from that we were second best for long periods that and Bradford we haven’t looked great hopefully it’s not a trend the momentum by not playing Stevenage hasn’t helped . away form is a worry for a top 2 finish Edited November 29, 2025 by Farnywhite Quote
bwfc4ife Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 (edited) We were very lucky to come away with a point. From the point we scored, we shat ourselves panicked and looked like a team fighting relegation desperate to clear our lines at every opportunity. Take the point obviously but I expected we’d of made a better fist of the challenge at least whilst 11 vs 11 Edited November 29, 2025 by bwfc4ife Quote

desperado Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 Was trying to see whether Simons red card suspension. can be used next Saturday - looks like it can: Yes, a suspension from a red card issued in a league game will carry over to an FA Cup game Quote

If that trend continues against "weaker teams" and we pick up more wins, we should be there or there abouts. Of course, it could go the other way, but for now, I think we are turning a corner. Quote

Way I see it, we are potentially a better “footballing side” than nearly all teams, but we can be rattled and our performance levels drop too often, so that leaves us on a par with 8 or 9 other teams in a competitive league. We'd all like to be that bit closer, but we're in far better shape than we were after Burton. Bound to be some changes for the cup, but I'd like us to play a strong side and win, then go to Mansfield in good heart. Quote
Take Hunt Off Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 Backs against the wall last twenty minutes but we didn’t fold completely.Toal & Johnstone have upped their game considerably. Conway had a poor game & Cogley needs replacing in the window as Christie won’t be fit enough to play every game. Can’t understand why we didn’t combat the diagonal ball that exposed Cogley time & time again.ie one on one against a guy that skinned him. Tutu had a decent game & has quality when he wants to use it. Morley disappointed again giving the ball away with careless flicks & inaccurate passing. Symonds was good & harshly sent off for two decent tackles that another referee might not have given even fouls for.ACD marked to the hilt on a tight pitch As soon as the match turned into a physical battle which largely bypassed midfield we lost control but got to give the other team credit for working out our weaknesses. Good point .Performances like that are a necessary part of a promotion campaign. Quote

waffer cup 07 Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 (edited) Ref gave a foul against Conway in the 1st half when he was in posession of the ball, a Luton player pushed Conway and then fell on the floor , Ref gave Luton a free kick. There will always be things we can do better- including the manager- but I do think we're slowly developing a tougher mentality. As for Cardiff- they may well win the league, but the idea that it is simply a battle for second is far too premature, and I'd be properly pissed off if we felt that way as a club. We saw how average Cardiff are. No way are they having the title handed to them, unless they strengthen in January. If we do and they don't, we can catch them. Can't compare us to Plymouth though, they had Ennis, Hardie, Azaz, Cosgrove, Whitaker scoring goals to win games like today. We've gone from relying on Burstow and ACD to get us goals out of nothing to seemingly just relying on ACD to have one of his moments. A good point today though, feels good to be 2nd best and not lose away. Quote
Domcarey1 Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 A hard fought point today. Had to dig in 2nd half but I think we’ll need another forward in January, Burstow tired today & the ball didn’t stick up front & led to us being under more pressure. Dalby huffed & puffed when he came on. Could have made the other subs earlier on as well. Game was crying out for Erhahon in midfield even before the sending off & Dempsey had a great 1st half but faded badly in the 2nd. Quote

Another shocking ref. This is why feigning serious injury is now so prevalent. It leads the ref to believe it was a bad foul and gets the culprit carded. Sad sign of the times Different Luton players did this for each of Simons cards and their Vergil lookalike did the same in the 1st half, pretending he'd caught a flailing arm to the mouth. Leyther_Matt Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 Disappointed tbh Got to be careful how I phrase this, but I thought it was a dreadful reaction from Schumacher to the red card. The one ‘shoring’ option was Erhahon coming on for one of the wingers and have Duberry/Forss/McAtee running about in the gap between the front man and the midfield, but he came on for Dempsey and at that point we were always hanging on at best. I thought back to the amount of times we’ve played against 10 and barely noticed the difference, whereas that just seemed to set us up for failure. One to learn from, hopefully. Game really should have been out of sight when Duberry hit the side of my head instead of the back of the net. Staggered to see criticism of Cogley on social media. Absolutely imperious at times, especially one particular piece of defending in the box first half, and offered so much more energy than Christie. Pre match would have been a good point, but I’m glad Schumacher seems to be similarly disappointed with the circumstances. Good to see @jazza, @leighwhites, @jules_darby and @marple whites Fair to say we had a worm’s eye view on row 2, but the safe standing made things miles more organised than last time Quote
Eddie Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 Great start, goal was a proper team move with some quality from Tutu and Dempsey picking up those positions where the opposition can’t pick him up. I had it on the Luton commentary and they were seriously concerned at how easily we opened them up. Then it all changed. They had the next 75 mins of the game. Not a battering by any means (up until the sending off) but they were in the driving seat. Centre backs were brilliant again, TSL was assured. Full backs were gash, both of them. The centre backs bailed them out time and time again. Simons had a good game in midfield (never a red - first yellow was harsh, second wasn’t even a foul) and Dempsey had a brilliant first half but ineffective second. Morley was generally a waste of space and left us seriously short in midfield - they over ran us and he added nothing. Burstow is struggling. He’s more isolated without Forss close to him and is out of form. Nothing stuck, he rarely found a white shirt and doesn’t currently look a goal threat (I’m a big fan, I just think he’s out of form). Problem is, Dalby looks anything but a capable replacement. I wouldn’t be disappointed to see him start up top v Mansfield with Burstow rested but it’s more out of hope than anything I’ve seen of him. If we’d have nicked a win then it was true smash and grab. A point away at Luton is a good result, regardless - if we follow it up with wins against Mansfield and Exeter then the last 2 draws turn into really good results. Biggest question mark for me is waiting until the 73rd minute to make the first change. That game was crying out to be switched up and shored up from about the 55th minute - I’ve no idea why he took so long. Did it cost us, not sure you can say that, but it didn’t help. We’re still going up. Quote
