Parky and his style of football wasn’t sophisticated and wasn’t my cup of tea. He did, however, have the kind of know-how you need to get promoted. In particular, he knew that you need centre halfs wh

Emphasis on my opinion, everybody is entitled to theirs. But Evatt does not deserve to be boo'd at all. He got the club going again, served us for 5 years and he did a lot of good for us in that

  • Parky's achievement in getting us out of this division in his first season (under an embargo too) looks better and better every year. No expectations of him needing years to build a side. Signed Alnwi

Thought i would give SS until next season....This was to move us on from where Evatt left us....He has got rid of the mentality.

First time i am questioning him

We can be such a tough watch. Not sure I have ever known a side so poor at converting dominance in to goals - hence the many ,many draws that should have been wins.

Automatic promotion looks like a bit of a fantasy now. Hard to see beyond an extended season and the play off lottery all over again.

As an older supporter I cannot abide Blackpool so the slight silver lining for me is that we maintained our long, long unbeaten home record v them. Forty years now - they have not won here since a win at Burnden at Easter in 1986. I reckon that is about a dozen league games with several cup games thrown in for good measure.

Of course it is the same tale of home team dominance with them v us at Gloomfield. Given derby games are supposed to be the ones where home advantage counts least it is bizarre. All the more so given the amount of times either club has been on the brink of an away win only for late drama to intervene. History on repeat today. A great draw for them given league positions but you just know that the toxically anti-Bolton older generation will be gutted they did not see it through.

Anyway the story of the day is the chances of this fixture occurring again next season probably increased today - and that is not a good thing.

To be fair I'd rather be playing Blackpool twice than Northampton, that was a proper derby feel today.  We've got another thread re derbies, and obviously this isn't a proper one, but its the next best thing.  That game mattered more than most, there was an edge, and there must have been twice as many here as for the Northampton game (not tickets sold obviously, but folk turning up).

On the incredible run of nobody winning at the other ground, I wonder if its a record in terms of number of games played against one team with no away wins.  It must be near 35.  What odds would you get if you bet on the next 40 games between any two teams not being away wins!

Any Blackpool fan I've spoke to since are raving about CBT. He had that Walter on toast.

Apter was sound too.

Our problem isn't them. It's not finishing and conceding wank goals.

Just fucking look at the state of the two we conceded today.

Both absolutely embarrassing.

Know what you mean about the wank goals, we've given 4 poor ones away last two home games and the one at Reading wasn't great. I didn't think today was such a bad finishing day though, we had a lot of crosses and corners but didn't make a load of clear chances, Apter's weak header was probably the big one. CBT's effort was a good one, as was Gale's at the end. Not much other than that other than the two goals.

The goals given away today were really poor, especially on the back of having grafted away for over an hour to get into the lead.

We're 10 points off the autos and that gap is too much. We're 10 points ahead of 7th but it'll be a task keeping in the plsyoffs lol. Shows how negative people are. Same gap, different reaction.

The 2 teams below us both have 2 games in hand on us , both can jump above us by 4 and 5 points if they win those games ....That is worrying.

We'll make the play offs but christ the rest of season is going to be painful.

They could do on Tuesday, but then they play the teams in 7th and 8th away next weekend. So at least 2 teams are dropping points.

It certainly will be painful. Every less than perfect result and we're falling out the playoffs, SS out, SB out.

I think our best shot at going up was 2nd place, which is over now. We'll make the playoffs but understandably none of us will be confident in that when it's groundhog day with every outing.

Burstow deserves a run now. Took his goal really well and seems fired up.

Previous home game, for Burstow read McAtee.

Last 2 away games, Rodriguez came on and got 1 assist and set up the assist in the other.

They are all good players on their day, I just know I'd rather have 2 strikers than one as long as they are upto it (jury out on Kenny because he's no track record, has to be behind the others currently).

McAtee and Ruben would've helped today.

I’ve just remembered that ‘foul’ Dalby conceded just before half time by their CB bouncing off him. What a load of fucking shite.

I hate enjoying football at times

Yet they were all over him all game and nothing given.

If they could just try and remember Sheehan is not Rodri it might be a start.

City conceded virtually the same goal as that v Spurs, it probably wasn't Rodri but it would have been a better player than Sheehan, but the modern way is for the keeper to pass it just like Bonham did today and Trafford did v Spurs.  We see it literally every week on the prem or EFL highlights.

Its not a mistake its a way of playing, he passed it where he meant to pass it, it wasn't misdirected like a sliced clearance or a shot put wide from 6 yards.  He'll do it again, because that's how he's told to play by the manager.  Same as the TSL one given to Exeter, its the manager's fault, I don't recall Jussi or Branagan or Felgate or McDonagh passing it to the opposition striker and its not because they were better keepers.

We didn't win today, because we failed to take our chances in the first half once again.
We eventually scored and seemed to immediately retreat 20 yds, we didn't push on for a second and the pressure told and we conceded two soft goals.

It's not all doom & gloom though, the positives are the way we created numerous openings (if not clear cut chances) in the first half and also the way we picked our selves back up to get the equaliser.

I said earlier in the week we're becoming difficult to beat. The attack will click eventually.

Why will it click eventually, because you want it to? There’s absolutely no sign of it clicking just face facts. Playing just Dalby up top against a team at the bottom is just plain stupid and after 20 or so minutes with CBT ripping their full back a new one it was obvious we needed another striker on but yet again Schumacher doesn’t see it. He didn’t even change it at half time despite all the excellent corners and CBT still fit enough. Two wingers is costing us an extra man up top and until SS stops fannying about with it, especially inverted, it’s going to be too late. It’s just the same crusade Evatt was on with his No10’s and likewise it isn’t working so see it and change it.

I used to dread 60 odd minutes for ineffective or like for like substitutions with IE.

It’s getting the same with SS but it’s minute 70 odd giving the incomer even less chance to make a difference.

A minimum of 7 minutes injury time. No football played minute 90 to 91 cos one of theirs is down having treatment. Ref blows for full time at 97.02

Apter dragged down in the first couple of minutes. Gives nowt. What was that liner doing signalling for a goal kick in the 2nd half when the ball clearly hadn't gone out?

Today's lot were the best we've had at home in ages. Still shite though.  Hope to God, we can get out of this division soon.

Evatt also seems to have discovered the knack of being under the cosh and not conceding.

Obviously not against anyone else (lost 5-0 at Port Vale, 4-0 home to Plymouth) but against us, completely dominated in the first hour, we could have scored on 4 or 5 occasions and we didn't.

I reckon that didn't happen once for him when he managed us, happy to be corrected if we ever survived an hour of being dominated.  The opposite when he managed us, 2 attacks from the opposition resulted in a goal as it now does for SS.

Hopefully not as painful as last season.  We had Big Dave and Etete up front at times.

The most Bolton performance of the season. We’re becoming a parody of ourselves now.

We’ll drop off like fuck now. Limp into the playoffs and get duly despatched
