JimmyRiddle Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Another season of flattering to deceive in this division, it's just more of the same Evatt bollocks, just done in a different way. Quote
Whitestar Posted February 21 Posted February 21 We're are much better (well just better) without Sheehan in the team. Quote

We're 10 points ahead of 7th but it'll be a task keeping in the plsyoffs lol. Shows how negative people are. Same gap, different reaction. Quote

It won't be because no-one from 7th below has the consistency to gain 10 points on us in 12 games Quote
Didledee Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Today is when it's gone, another close game, gifting them goals, can't build on a lead, same old story, not ready. That mistake from the keeper, that will be in our defenders minds going forward now, which may lead to more feck ups Good job Kenny was offside because that and his miss vs Reading,my word, is this the type of player he is? The 13 draws are where it's gone. Cardiff have lost the same amount of games but won 6 more. Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 (edited) Its not the 1st time Bonham has played it out to a marked defender. Why you'd you. Toal was free to his left. Madness. Edited February 21 by waffer cup 07 Quote

We did well enough without him recently, but he is clearly an SS favourite, so he's very likely to play. On the set up, if Dempsey was given the "10" job (hate that title) then I don't understand it, with a plethora of new signings. Playing 3 in midfield is fine, but that surely needs full backs who will readily overlap to give additional width. Seemed a bit of a mish-mash, almost over thought. Quote

It all adds up, but there was a slight bit of hope left in me, hoping we get some wins and some help from others before Lincoln and Cardiff play each other in 2 weeks, that doesn't matter now. Once the other teams have caught up with their games in hand, it's gonna be even tighter below us and the gap above widened, doubt we'll throw playoffs away, but no guarantee to get a home leg 2nd, which even saying that if you're drawing 2-2 with Blackpool in a must win game, then what hope can you take? There's no shame in being 3rd but for auto's to need a miracle in February? it's dissappointing. Quote

With our run in, I’d want to have more than a 4-point cushion to 7th going into the last 5 games. We really need to pick up some decent points in the next few games. Quote
Dimron Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I know which manager won't be getting stick from his supporters tonight Quote
victor meldrew Posted February 21 Posted February 21 That result was down to Schumacher, clearly should have made the attacking subs after we scored. not good enough, it took Sheffield Utd 7 years to get out of this league can we do it next year. Doubt it. Quote

FrancisFogarty Posted February 21 Posted February 21 We needed to pick up some decent points in the last few games but we never learn. We’re so green sometimes. Subs should have been earlier again. Mistakes happen yes, but at least learn from them. Quote
meanderson93 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Same story as most of our games this season, and more so since January, dominate games, tonnes of chances that we can't take early and then create problems for ourselves at the back. I'm still confident in how that pans out in a playoff environment but I'd definitely like to start to see us put teams to bed comprehensively before then. It's coming. Quote
bwfc4ife Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Really disappointed with that result today after again another 45 mins of decent play. One good chance and multiple half chances created. On top and in the ascendancy. We get the goal and a little bit of pressure and we fold almost instantly, couldn’t stand up to it. I felt we needed some fresh legs around the 60 mins mark, we looked like we were running out of ideas and they finally came too late yet again. That bonus cock up was a joke, almost did it again right at the end when they hit the post. Moment of indecision then decided to race out and almost got caught. Great ball from Gale and great header from Mason, pleased for him. Notable mention also to Kenny who whilst very lively has missed two clear cut chances so far. Today he was offside but didn’t even hit the target. I’m wonder if he really is a finisher? Still coming away massively frustrated, we just can’t seem to hit the back of the net and I really don’t fancy us over two legs against shithousing teams. I’m starting to wonder if this is just gonna be a season of us always being the nearly men. Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted February 21 Posted February 21 (edited) Chaotic end to a game we'd been very good in for 65 mins, hugely frustrating to make such a balls up of it then in less than 10. Bit manic at the end, they were trying to win as much as us, and looking as likely, we had 3 CFs on, next to no midfield and a back 4 with two wing backs in it. All a bit of a mess, though I was stood behind Gale as he took that shot and it looked in. Edited February 21 by ianofcleveleys Quote
Popular Post Lostock Whites Posted February 21 Popular Post Posted February 21 (edited) I'm personally a bit bored of the should haves and the ifs, buts and maybes. End of the day, we've shown from the beginning of the season that we are a good team, we play good football and dominate 95% of all matches in this league. But, as I say every single week, we are not ruthless enough in both boxes. We don't score anywhere near the amount we should do and we concede the softest goals that just come out of nowhere. I get we aren't ever going to be a perfect team, but if you want any chance of getting automatic promotion, then you've got to be ruthless, if that means winning 1-0 most weeks then that's what it takes. For us we have to score 2 or more recently 3 at our home ground just to win a game. Us being 10 points off autos is what we deserve unfortunately, the table doesn't lie. For me I resigned to the play offs after the Lincoln game. Anything else is a bonus. Edited February 21 by Lostock Whites Quote
