Tell you what, I'm glad of the fucking break of it all this weekend.

Agreed - but Reading Stockport and Wycombe all play though so from 3 until 5 be glued to SSN for updates

Was listening to a league 1 podcast where they picked their 23 man England squad from league 1 players (sad I know).

Interesting getting a perspective from other league 1 fans and may highlight how much we overrate our players. Only 2 players made their squad: Conway as second choice left back and Cozier Duberry on the wing.

I couldn't argue for any others versus all the players they were mentioning (even if our players were all English). Just made me wonder are we over performing in 3rd?

I've been saying this a while. We as fans can't possibly know how all the players at other clubs are performing like (apart from Wanderlust of course).

I'm sure our coaches and back room team will know but it's not like we can go out and buy them all. We did try it with Erahon (and yes I know he's a Scotcher) who was supposedly Lincoln's best player and look how that's turned out. I'm not saying he's shit or anything but Lincoln had clearly got plenty of decent backup or made signings that improved them.

Aye we have a mixture of over evaluating our players and over analysing our performances.

In reality Blackpool spent more than us last summer and on paper I'd have had Ennis and that Wigan lad over Dalby and Kenny any day of the week.

Nobody watches Bradford or Stockport. Their fans are as equally dismayed at their stuttering form.

Lincoln have just nailed whatever they're doing. Same as Plymouth did the other.

Sometimes you just hit jackpot and ride the crest of a wave. They're not a juggernaut, just a well oiled machine who are having the season of their lives.

some also underate out players given JDC was in the L1 team of the season (same year as Sheehan)

am sure dalby would get in on current form but wasn't long ago there was a thread about what he actually brings to the team

anyway

I couldn't name an english XI from non bolton players in this league and don't pay any attention to any one who can

that said

it's not like any of our players, english or otherwise, have had the type of the season that would get them into team of the season, even though we're 3rd and could get promoted - not one consistent performer - ACD at a push but even he went well off the boil before getting injured

God our run in is tough.

Looking at the chasing packs’ fixtures, I don’t think any of Reading, Stevenage or Wycombe will get enough points to overtake and get a play off spot. I do think Plymouth will though and expect them to take Huddersfield’s spot - I could also see us finishing 5th.

Looking at them remaining fixtures we are unlikely to make the playoffs

It is crazy how the last 3 games have totally changed how our season feels.

IMO we need a win next week, Friday or Monday and things will look a lot better, but if we lose them both !!

unbeaten in 12 before Vale so 3 defeats on run seems unlikely based on the good run unless you watched those last few games.

We need 3 wins IMO as 75 will be good enough for play offs. I would not be if we won any of last games, but equally unsurprised if we lose any of them.

Huddersfield been up there all season are suddenly 10th !

it is really not fun.

Since when were we afraid of Stockport, Huddersfield, Stevenage and Luton at home?

In fact since when were our fanbase so weak-willed?

Watching most of the last ten games only Exeter have we dominated and Wimbledon first half then just hung on. We could lose the remaining games

I think the 2 points from 3 games against teams much lower in the league gives cause for concern !

Bloody hate these International breaks. Especially when  England are playing.

Weekends are for sport and this has been one of those rare non events, probably happens twice a year. Looking at the calendar for the next few months, no more weekends without at least one of league football, world cup, major tournaments in tennis, golf or athletics, or English cricket.  No more radio & TV sports channels pretending they care about women's football till 26th September, that one lasts for 2 whole weeks.

I think it was when we were lucky to draw 0-0 v Doncaster then lucky to only lose 1-0 at Port Vale.

That doesn't mean we'll lose any of our last 7 because we might improve, but I'm sure you'd agree that not improving means we lose most if not all of them.

If we loose both games over Easter o can’t see us doing it .
we need a draw at Plymouth snd a win against Stockport then finding another 2 wins from 5 should be ok .

if we did fail to even get in there I would expect SS to be gone

Give over man. It's not like the chasing pack are all bang in form.

We play better against better teams too.

We will piss it.

OINO innit.

As long as we're winning.
