Last seasons run in saw us take 8 points from the last 8 gamesĀ

How many points do you think we will get from our remaining games this season folks?

More than 8.

I'm not sure I agree with him being up against it. He didn't inherit a team struggling towards the bottom of the league, it was a group of players who were evidently just not quite good enough to get promoted and needed a freshen-up.

Unfortunately, SS didn't bring that in any way, shape or form.

You're obviously way more ITK than the rest of us because I wasn't aware that half the team wanted out.

Getting rid would be mental, but that doesn't mean it's been a success up to now - it's been a tough grind.

Eh? He's replaced more than half the squad

Not in the know one iota, but two keepers wanted away. Jones knew he was going but to be fair he tried every game he played he was not the same player pre injury

Santos wanted off, Murphy,Matete would have known they would be returning to their parent clubs....Collins and Thomason would have been informed that the club was open to offersĀ  as we was for Gomes,Schon, Randall, Lolos and Mcatee.......Adoboyejo, Cogley, Forrester got shipped out for nominal fees rather than be released this Summer.

Out of nearly 30 players he inherited only Sheehan and Conway have had new contracts since he came in

Apologies, I meant freshen-up in terms of a new manager coming in a bringing new ideas and new optimism, rather than fresh faces.

I would question our signings though but not sure how much they are his decisions.

I’m sure he’ll have some input; telling Fergal and team what type of player he needs, reviewing what it proposed, etc., even if he doesn’t negotiate and sign-off on the deals.

However, regarding this season’s signings, I believe we only brought in Jimmy Dickenson, as Head Of Recruitment, after all last summer’s (permanent) signings were made/agreed. Add to that the need to massively manage out the largely unwanted Evatt signings, it might be that this summer’s dealings will be the acid test of the recruitment team.

Not a given that we actually get in the playoffsĀ

it's unlikely our form will turn so bad that we don't

we draw a lot, we don't lose many

can't see us finishing lower than 4th, mainly because I doubt anyone 5th onwards will go on a run that would be good enough to over take us

As you say we draw a lot, recently and in the season generally, and against the top half teams.Ā Ā

I expect us to beat Vale and not win many more, so the key to finishing 3rd or 4th is probably the games v Bradford and Stockport.Ā  If we lose any of those its effectively out of our hands.

If we lose at Plymouth they will be in 7th , 4 points behind us. They also have Bradford to play away.Ā
Ā

75 points should be enough for play offs. 3 wins.Ā
Ā

These last three games have really made this a lot harder than it should be.Ā

It's nigh on impossible to predict as a block of games, what happens from game to game and how it affects confidence/mentality/nerves is a massive factor, not just for us but who we might be playing.Ā

This late run of fixtures was a concern viewed from a distance, weeks ago, after we've fluffed the last 3 games it looks even trickier, though certain of the opponents might also be nervy.

For what its worth I think, with still a bit of optimism and some guessing at where the opponents will be at when we play them, we'll end up with 10 more points from a run of 2 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats

Yeah impossible as a block. I do think this Plymouth game is must not lose though or we'll be dragged right into the mix with no form or confidence, and would be likely to drop out of the play offs completely given that run.
