No, mate, not me.
It's somebody else in Bolton with the same name as me.

I think Forino is our best CB. Toal is out of form. Johnston gets worse season on season.

I did allude to the fact that Forino was our best centre half. I just don't think he's all that, though.

How refreshing would it be to see us have some proper urgency and energy in the first 5 minutes. I’m a big believer in setting the tone - Cardiff did it on Saturday and we never recovered, they were all over us like a rash in those first 5 minutes, didn’t score but there was almost an inevitability set. Our players looked shell shocked, any plans seemed to be out of the window and it was damage limitation from then on.

We could do the same tonight, but it’s completely against our slow and steady careful, brake on attitude.

But SS only picked 9 men (Gale and Christie might as well not been on the pitch)

They will park the bus and allow us the ball. If that ball is shared between Toal and Johnston it is going to be a long night.

I hope Rodriques  plays and we can get him on the ball. SS seems to hate the sideways back and forth for no reason yet only he can change it. And again today he seems to have have had a slight dig at the wingers and again seems to play two every week no matter what.

Tombwfc quotes SS saying we do not play well with 5/3/2 and play at our best with two wingers. Well i am astounded he thinks that because we have no true full backs at the club to play a 4 at the back and Gale,Apter,Cissoko, Tutu, Gomes have been very inconsistent all season and ACD and Blackett-Taylor the only two showing any kind of consistancy before both getting bad injuries

I would go with:

                         Bonham

        Toal.         Forino.        Johnston

Tutu.                                                 Conway

                  Sheehan.   Dempsey

                          RR

                 Kenny.         Dalby

if they are all available

SS won’t though and will put us at risk of losing the game playing wingers

Quotes from SS in the paper today about not wanting to play 5-3-2. Basically says we didn't create enough when we've tried it and we're at our best playing wingers.

Which I think is fair enough when one of those wingers is ACD, less so when it comes to the others.

He's missing the point here, since we reverted to 4231 we've looked way too open and conceded 2 in a game 6 times, including to sides like Rotherham and Blackpool, neither of whom were in any sort of form.

It's less about how much he thinks we're creating, more about us being hard to beat. I'd be quite happy to bore our way to the Championship with a series of games where the opponents score nil.

Having ACD back is clearly a good thing but has given SS a ready excuse to defend sticking with 4231, even when it involves having to play either Gale or Cissoko on the other side.

Is the lad in the middle now the greasy long haired lad who is always getting into arguements in the away end with fellow fans

Negativity aside, I wouldn't be surprised if Schuey has been telling them all that this is the perfect game for us right now.

Horrible but highly effective team, play off rival that could go level points with us.

If we secure play offs then this will be a great marker and practice run ahead of the real thing in May.

If the players can get up for this game then the season might as well end now.

We have some issues technically that we need to change in the summer. But right now, what the hell is the point being so negative (talking more so to the players here), looking down at the floor and feeling sorry for ourselves.

I think that's what every supporters biggest gripe was with the Cardiff game. Yes they're a good team, but we have beaten them before, deservedly so, they were in poor form and under pressure, young team too. Yet we looked like the team under pressure, no confidence whatsoever, no player taking initiative and being brave defensively and offensively.

I feel pretty confident saying that our promotion hinges on the mentality of the players.

When we play with confidence and determination we beat anybody in this league.

I'm not really worried about Bradford this, Stockport that, Stevenage etc. The biggest opponent we have to get past to get promoted is ourselves. I'm concerned about which Bolton Wanderers is going to turn up.

Are we going to turn up in confidence and fight? Or gonna turn up heads down, not really bothered, slow to everything and feel sorry for ourselves?

I guess we will see.

Two good posts.

It’s just your last paragraphs I’d challenge on.

@Lostock Whites not fighting, heads down, feeling sorry for ourselves is not something I see.

I think @Eddie last paragraph is closer to the truth.

But I think that doesn’t quite define what we saw Saturdays and our approach to games.

I think we’d have seen 5 at the back more if a “breaks on, steady careful approach was our mantra.”

Dunno but there was a fight in our end due to some argument. Quite a few stewards had to sort it and a paramedic in attendance. Dunno if whoever started it got a wallop but there were quite a few angry folk coming out at the end saying that someone was going to 'get it outside'. Didn't see anymore trouble though.

I don't think that's him, but I know who you mean.
He's either one of or mates with the Forest Green No Ken Do halfwits.

Is it this fella?

That’s whoo was thinking of. First memory of him was at Forest away when he was punching his hand and pointing to Freedman on the other side of the pitch. Must’ve shat himself

Such a massive game, win tonight and play offs are virtually guaranteed and players like ACD and Kenny can be gently settled back into the team.  Especially if Huddersfield do not beat Cardiff.

Lose and Huddersfield beat Cardiff then Huddersfield turn up Saturday looking to close gap to 2 points !

It would nt be the Bolton way to simply win 3-0 today with all goals scored nice and early would it ?
