  • Can't agree there pal. I know a few Wolves lads. Anyone over the age of 40 have us up there with West Brom as most hated team. We inflicted a lot of damage to them. From them getting twatted all over

  • no I think you like it, which is why you keep going on about it, at length, and musing over how people may or may react no one else is going to get you banned so no need to keep going on like you do

They’ll be licking their lips at the thought of playing us…. They don’t like us to this day… bloody lovely, bring it on!

And that's before Bowen goes for something similar presumably.

But Wolves and Burnley will be swilling with cash and/or Prem or top end Championship players too, so those 3 can just get on with their own battle.

It all seems very quiet on the "Hull have to sell players to the value of £6mil" front. Has anyone heard anything?

I read somewhere they were selling Kyle Joseph to Boro for 5M

I have a sense that Burnley won't be as successful this year, as they have been in the past at going straight back up.

Parachute payments maybe, but they will still need to be judicious in their spending.

Aren't Everton having to pay them £35m or summat?

Add that to parachute payments & general Premiershipness & I think they'll survive.

Survive?

I was thinking about promotion.

I'm not convinced they will achieve it this time round.

There or thereabouts, but not quite.

No specific reasoning, just suspicion.

Yes but they can spend £20mil and if it doesn't work, just move onto another £15mil or £10mil signing, and that's just from the compensation from Everton before they dip into parachute payments and player sales.

The bigger clubs like Boro, Southampton and Sheff U are paupers in comparison, Burnley can cock it up and still finish 3rd.

Thought he’d have got a better move than League 2.

I don't think they care, its about the contract.

MK Dons last year - Collins, Maindez-Laing, Callum Patterson, Hepburn-Murphy - as good a set of strikers as any L1 club.

Good luck to him, wherever. Though I am surprised he didn't get a decent mid-table 3rd Division club.

He'll have been on decent money at Bolton by L1 standards, and it would be hard for a L1 manager to justify to his board both an above average wage and a 2 year deal, with his injury record. Whereas if Vale do have the funds its a great signing (a "statement signing" even). When we were in L2 imagine the fuss if we'd signed him pre-season, compared to who we did sign.

He's not injury prone. He just spends half of each season injured.

for some reason I was sure he'd signed for Bradford?

... who seem to be shipping a whole new team in.

We’re apparently after Nathan Baxter

Can he be as bad as Connor Hazard?

In his first season with us, I'd say he was our best keeper since Jussi. He seemed to lose confidence afterwards but I don't recall him making any howlers.

I liked Baxter but he goes into the list of the Oxford heroes for me. It all changed with his finger injury and whatever happened with ‘super’ Ian

Take it you didn’t go to Lincoln away! I think he must have been on the piss the night before. Conceded 4, he was hopeless, didn’t bother trying to save a penalty

I knew there'd be at least one I'd blanked from my memory! You're right, he was shocking that day (along with a few others). You get that guy @green genie and you're fecked! Get the earlier version i mentioned though and it could be a great signing.

But yes, one game.

I agree he looked good at the beginning and he’ wasn’t riddled with errors… but there was something about him that wasn’t just quite right IMO.

I didn't go but christ, that free kick 😲.

Telly nearly got booted in at that point, never even tried to save it.

Embarrassing
