Traf Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 If it's a foreigner it'll be one of Lippi, Capello, Scolari or Berti Vogts.
Ani Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 The first price is Skybet, the second is Corals Sam Allardyce 7/2 5 Steve McClaren 3 5 Alan Curbishley 6 5 Martin O Neill 8 8 Guus Hiddink 10 Stuart Pearce 12 10 Jose Mourinho 16 Paul Jewell 16 Steve Bruce 16 20 Bryan Robson 20 Marcelo Lippi 25 Ruud Gullit 25 Peter Taylor 33 33 David O Leary 33 Otmar Hitzfeld 33 25 David Moyes 40 Glen Hoddle 40 Sir Alex Ferguson 25 40 Arsene Wenger 50 25 Sir Clive Woodward 50 Terry Venables 50 50 Felipe Scolari 50 8 Rehagel 50 Sir Bobby Robson 66 66 Claudio Ranieri 66 Fabio Capello 66 33 Harry Redknapp 100 Kevin Keegan 100 100 the scarey thing is that when you see that list Sam must have a real chance.
Sweep Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 I can't believe that people actually place bets for "next managers" it is without a doubt the most corrupt betting market there is. Anyway, what odds can you get on it being Jay, he did afterall get the Allstars promoted last season
monkfish Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 i have checked a few sites and cant find any odds yet. fancy a flutter on this one - not backing sam as he has not won a trophy and has only a tiny amount of european experience. anybody know of any published odds yet? these were on bbc but didnt come with a reference: SVEN'S SUCCESSOR Sam Allardyce 5/2 Steve McClaren 7/2 Ottmar Hitzfeld 8/1 Martin O'Neill 10/1 Steve Bruce 12/1 Sir Trevor Brooking 20/1 Kevin Keegan 100/1 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4641682.stm and what trophies have the others won let's dicard O'Neil as most managers would win somert in the mickey mouse scottish league. McLaren won the carling cup against us.. but has done diddly-squat-d??ck-all since.. only thing stopping Sam getting the job will be player power. they won;t want to play in the 4-5-1 formation, even though it would finally bury the left-sided england hoodoo. let's be honest. he should get it. don't know how well he'd do and I think the press will be at him from day one. Simple fact is the press and the FA still (like myself) worship 4-4-2. if i was gonna pick anyone I'd pick Jose Mourinio
Horwich Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 im sure he'd play 4-4-2 if he was england boss. he plays 4-5-1 because that the way thats suits our shite players.
Ani Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 im sure he'd play 4-4-2 if he was england boss. he plays 4-5-1 because that the way thats suits our shite players. shhhhhhhhh. do nt tell the fa that.
Traf Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 my odds would be JAY 500/1 McCLAREN 501/1 I'll have a tenner on McClaren with you then.
bolton in bedford Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Mclaren will get it because: 1. he's red face fergie's former bum boy so fa think he'll be better than he is 2. He manages middlesborough and they along with the other shite north east clubs, they all think they are up there with liverpool, chelsea etc, and for some reason a lot of the public do too. North east clubs are average not good LOOK AT THE LEAGUE TABLE 3. he is in the england set up so won't upset the apple cart. 4. the only other two likely won't because of public opinion. Alladyce long ball (despite being 7th, finishing 6th and getting to the league cup final all in the last 2 1/2 years, and curbishley has never managed a big club. Also, Pearce has got the passion apparently. I'm passionate about england too. give me the job.
exiledwhite2 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 It's Mclarens job, the FA will say it's evidence of their long-term thinking and pretend everything has gone to plan. But down Sarf, I have to report that people are defintely warming to the idea of Sam as boss Can Sam not do it part time?
