Andybwfc Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Goodrington Sands - Paignton Butlins - Skeggy (went also last year - Superb)
bolty58 Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 In the light of the current homo alerts regarding Brighton, I reluctantly advise that I went there every year. As an owd bastard, however, I can assure you it was a top mod town then and at the cutting edge of youth culture mid 60's to mid 70's. Uphill gardening is a more recent phenomenon. Heavily influenced by flocks of Lambrettas and Vespas down from London. Used to love that Volks' railway thing along the back of the beach there. I wanted to be a train driver tha knows.
Smiley Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 South Of France camping. 3 years on the bounce when a nipper. Used to travel in our Rancho to the likes of St Tropez, Nice, Cannes, Monaco, etc. Great part of the world!!!

Guest Biff Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 butlins, minehead canterbury in 75 and 6...both were scorchio Casino's at that awkward age. Too old for 18-30 and too young for Saga holidays.
no balls Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Newquay -Wales Quality Must have been a Horwich thing then...same here. Towyn, now that was a truly terrible place. We had to dodge trains to get to our caravan. That must have contravened many a health & safety law. And the evening entertainment in the clubhouse was embarrasing to a naive little sprog like me. My dad used to complain the beer was flat too. Makes me wonder why we went again come Horwich Holiday fortnight then really.
Guest as Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Kettlewell (sic) in North Yorkshire, my grandad was a right boring c*nt and thought we'd enjoy some quiet little village for a week. I used to dip all the local shops coz they all trusted each other round there..................I was from Halliwell after all 8-[ PB
shytalk Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Newquay -Wales Quality Have they moved it ? Or was the Horwich Holiday army defeated by the Sons of Glyndwr ?

Northern Dancer Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Butlins ( Clacton on sea) full of cockerknees as I remember. As a nipper the night before our hols my Dad used to take me in the Griffin one of his regular haunts in those days. Dad was well known in the griff and the regulars would come over and have a chat with him and when leaving everyone would drop me a few bob for my hols, used to leave with pockets full of change and the odd note which I used to share with my brother when I got home. happy days!
