BWFC_LOVE
I ain't being funny but the pic of Hunt a bit down the screen - has his head been photoshopped on??? Exactly what I was thinking. It's a deffo for me. Far too much weight on whoever that player is for it to be Nicky Hunt. And it's a strange expression on Hunt's face considering the player is jumping for joy. Nicky Hunt never played for the first XI when we had that home kit anyway.

glasgowwhite
he deffo wore that colour sometimes - away game versus Arsenal in Div 1, nice sunny day & he was wearing this shirt (remember it from a football card) having checked my Bolton Wanderers A Complete Record 1877-1989 the said game was Highbury 16th Sept 1978 & Brian Smith played! YATESY
Being a keeper myself, it still amazes me that the wearing of gloves on dry days is a quite recent introduction.
Guest Biff
They only wore gloves if the ball was greasy and slippy. Keepers don't wear caps now to keep the sun out of their eyes. They only used to bring a flat cap and a pair of gloves on to the field with them. Now it's a towel, water and god knows what else.
Underpants
I don't know if time has clouded my memory but I thought McDonagh played in the blue more than the green . Always associated him with the blue top.
Underpants
having checked my Bolton Wanderers A Complete Record 1877-1989 the said game was Highbury 16th Sept 1978 & Brian Smith played! This game was one of the feature games on MOTD that evening. From what I can remember the Arsenal goal was a dodgy off-side one. It was analysed by Jimmy Hill afterwards and he said it wasn't off-side. Was the time when Bolton weren't on the telly much and that's probably why I remember it.
