Site Supporter MickyD Posted April 19, 2008 Site Supporter Share Posted April 19, 2008 Made even better by the fact that boro's singing was non-existent; not a murmour!

Can't remember our players celebrating a goal like that in a long while as well! Everyone except Ali in front of us going mental!

Jiminiho.3
I didn't hear one song from them all afternoon, only the silly penalty appeals. Thought Reebok could be quiet!

Ashey
Well done lads - could be heard easily over the rabble of noise in the FF. Spotted gubbins on tele, and me and kempo burst into a rendition of 'Gary Megson's big white shoes, we always win we never lose' - Gubbins' anthem from Madrid

Piemon
Good noise all afternoon. I particulary liked the renditions of 'El Hadji Diouf' for most of the first half
Eddie
The sight of all 11 players stood infront of us at the final whistle applauding and cheering while we sung we are saying up will stay in my head for a long time, just wish I had a picture. Eddie
What a difference 12 months makes I take it you mean that I was happy with singing we are staying up, when 12 months ago we were going to Europe. I did think that during the game, but no matter how good getting to Europe was, coming back from the dead to give yourself a good chance of staying up just seems so much better at the time. I never celebrated a goal like I did yesterday when we were challenging for Europe.

stevieb
Watching goals on sunday, when we scored it panned to the fans. Mental scenes!!! My house mate, a munich who despises bolton (mainly because of me) and our boring football, actually said 'i wish i was there that looks quality'. That'll do fer me! Unfortunately the memory of those same 11 players sneaking off after another gutless performance many times this season is also stuck in my head. It was a good result, but once again we were bobbins first half and could have been 5-0 down after 20 minutes. Let's not let one decent result cloud the fact the players have been rubbish all season. If they'd applied themselves earlier they wouldn't need to act like they'd won the Champions League after scoring a goal at Boro.
Traf
That f?cker Jaaskelainen would have sneaked off again yesterday even after a win. Mind you, with him in goal, we'd have been 3 down after 10 mins. I'm one of a minority that believes we'd not be in such a bad position if Al Habsi had played all season. JJ is the weak link. Sweep
I'm one of a minority that believes we'd not be in such a bad position if Al Habsi had played all season. JJ is the weak link. I think to call JJ the weak link is a bit harsh, as there are many players who have failed to perform this season, although to be fair he wasn't having his greatest season prior to the injury. I think that his injury happened at the "best" possible time for us, and Al Habsi has shown himself to be a more than adequate replacement. If JJ hadn't got injured, then he would still be first choice I presume, which would have meant that Al Habsi would have probably only played out in Lisbon. He could have been so annoyed at lack of first team football, that he too, like Jussi, could have wanted to leave at the end of the season. The injury to Jussi, should be seen as a blessing I suppose.
