what ever way you dress it up...

we have no strength in depth, no pace and no creativity and everyone pinning our goalscoring hopes on a guy that has played one game for us.....oh and a polish pothead....

still if some of you knobjockeys think that is sufficient....who am i to disagree...

We will see how the new boys perform at Fulham.

Andrew Johnson against Shittu - say no more!

Shittu might have been ok last saturday but he was up against a championship forward.

10 out 5 in

out: stelios, campo, andranik, guthrie, alonso, raziak, diouf, meite, braaten, dzemaili

in: elmo, riga, mumbo, smarolek, shi2

Guthrie, Meite, Campo and Diouf were the only ones consistently in/around the 1st team

So 4 out, 5 in.

The way I see it we may have lost 10 players, but league wise four of them never had a look in under Megson, so effectively we have lost 6 and gained 5 with the comparisions below and I feel that overall the quality is improved.

Elmander - Raziak Need I explain why on this one

Smollarek - Stelios Time will tell, but Stelios rarely played under Megson

Riga - Diouf Again time will tell, but looks promising

Muamba - Guthrie I think we have the better player but would have liked to have kept Guthrie and sign Muamba

Shittu - Meite On ability would prefer Meite, but Shittu wants to play for us. Would have preferred to keep Michalik though.

- Campo May have been a season too far, but would have been useful with the current injury situation

We also signed 5 players in January of which 4 are still here so since Megson started we definitely have better squad.

We also have Fojut who Megson has high hopes for.

Whether the back room team proves to be as good is another question, under Allardyce we used to lose the least number of match days to injury, so could work with a smaller squad, judging on this season so far, then this may not be the case.

The last three managers have had high hopes on Fojut. It's about time he was breaking through into the first team.

from what I have seen of Muamba, I would have preffered guthrie, and stelios has more class in his left bollock than any player we have signed, fat phil should be on the phone today pleading for him to come back.

muamba is u21 captain, guthrie never gets a look in...

make of that what you will.

although i would have liked to have seen em both in a white shirt..

=D> =D>

that is the scary part....

I never understood the reasoning of getting rid of Stelios and Campo.....they obviously weren't his men and they were not in his future plans....where as Danny Sheeeitu is

muamba will prove to be cracking signing imo, just a bit wet behind the ears at the minute...

fully agree with that statement however, yet again we have a good young lad doing all the running for a slow ponderous midfield, guthrie and muamba together would have been excellent, and maybe the pressure put on Nolan would have give him the kick up the arse he needs.

who is stelios playing for?

Posted (edited)
Elmander, Smolarek, Riga, Davies, Nolan

All those will score more this year than they, or their equivalent, did last year

As will Taylor.Edit. And Shittu if he plays.

Are you having a laugh! Like who? Dzemali? He looked absolute shit. Only other one i could think of is Andranik who completley lost intrest in playing for us.

Tyls, I think I said 'give them a run in the first team & see how they do'.

Anyone who puts a player in a scratch cup team once every few weeks and expects to judge their competence & ability is in cloud-cuckoo land.

And we're judging against a midfield 3 from 5 (if all are fit & not suspended) of Muamba, Nolan, McCann, JOB & Cohen.

not forgetting training 5 days a week 40 odd weeks a year

i know you didn't rate stellios...

but your missing the point...

if he got rid of them to free up wages and to bring in better players...IMO i don't think he has suceeded with perhaps the exception of Riga / Muambe(jury's still out)

Stelios was always likely to nick a goal...where as now we are relying on kevin "don't shout at me, i'm a touchy scouse c*nt" Nolan, to nick the odd goal...

we are talking strength in depth...we haven't got it...and are now exposed...isn't it a case of 1 in, 1 out?....not x out and lets see if we can get someone??

Whilst we are at it...Sheiteu for Meite is another obvious backwards step...

it seems to me that if you don't swallow the lying ones last little drop of spunk...you are out the door...

When have we ever had stength in depth? Has any of the teams who will challenging around us in the league got strength in depth?

You can tell that from Shittu starting 1 league game?
