The True Marple White Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Having just returned from the game disappointed by the result, I am absolutely fuming by my threat of arrest at putting up my Marple Whites Flag. Upon entering the ground I was told I could not put up my flag because it was a 'national flag'. If I did I would be arrested and whatever happens after that! I asked for the highest ranked steward there to explain the decision.............the reason was because at a game earlier in the season some one had put up a Turkish flag and a Greek chap had got the hump and complained. Therefore no more 'national' flags are allowed. When I saw red white and red flags up with Arsenal written above, I prettily told the steward I was sat next to that that is the Austrian flag and that should not be allowed in the stadium!!!!! his reply was that they sell them in the club shop and just laughed!!! We live in England for christ sake - why can one not show loyal to his club, let alone to his country!! rant over............sorry!

peebles Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Sign of the times I'm afraid. A Glasgow Irons flag was taken down at the Stadium of Light for being 'Loyalist' Apparently it is now offensive to be loyal to one's Country.

bolty58 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 This has happened before at other grounds A fcuking disgrace. It would only happen in England (lefty coonts allowed too much of a say). here in Australia (or in the US), flying their national flag is encouraged. This needs challenging in England. We can't let the fcukers win this one. Maybe they'd be happy if you flew the EU flag?
Traf Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 We had this discussion after we played there last season. Stadium policy. Won't get changed. Live with it and worry about something more important.
peebles Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 We had this discussion after we played there last season. Stadium policy. Won't get changed. Live with it and worry about something more important. If someone is flying a flag to provoke i.e a Palastine flag at White Hart Lane fair do's, looking for trouble. But a St Georges flag a few miles from Buckingham Palace? Only in Great Britain.

Electric Gretar Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 An absolute joke, nothing ceases to amaze me in this country anymore.
Smiffs Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) London is full of foreigners and bedwetting apologists. You're fighting a losing battle, a foreigner in your own capital. Its full of freaks, ethnics, miscreants, queers, and foreign folk. Nowadays, I only go to London to remind myself why we are better than them. Edited January 11, 2009 by Smiffs
pike_mill_white Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 The Emirates situation was actually a Turkish Cypriot flag like the one in my signature, a Greek Cypriot got the hump so to resolve it no national flags of any origin can be displayed. Crazy.
Breightmet Boy Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 My flags been up in many a countrys national stadia and ive only ever had problems here, when my phone rings it plays 'Back Home' and txt plays 'The National Anthem', and if nobody likes it they can kiss my fat spotty arse They may be able to stop me showing my loyalty to my club n country but they cant take away my love the cu nts :p
Hutch Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Shocking that you can't put a national flag in the Emirates, you want to put a claim in for discrimation Official attendance was 60 thou but there must have been 3 thou empty seats in corporate middle tier Shit atmosphere with plastic fans. Reebok is 10 times better
Bifferboy Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 There is something sadly wrong when it becomes "offensive" to display your nations flag in your own country.
Guest Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 There is something sadly wrong when it becomes "offensive" to display your nations flag in your own country. True and especially as it isn't our nations flag. We are British nationals, so you should be allowed to display the Flag of St George, the Flag of England. Our National Flag, is, ocourse, the Union Flag.
Guest Biff Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 And it is not even the English flag since that does not have BWFC or whatever written on it.
Hutch Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 From Arsenal.com Flags National flags are not allowed into the Stadium. Flags can be no bigger than 1metre square and they must not be attached to a thick pole, the pole can be no thicker than a pencil. The worlds gone mad....
jolly-olly Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Gets my blood boiling this. If our culture, flag or whatever, offends people from other countries who are living here then feck right off home. We didn't ask you to come here. You claim our benefits, use our NHS and you still fooking moan. You bring your terrorist mates over here and still expect to be welcome. Well you can fook right off. Keep St George in my heart, keep me English. English and proud.
no balls Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Has anyone emailed the club to ask the official reason why? If they say it's due to folk complaining I reckon some Tony Robinson type will find an ancient covenant that'll say what they're doing is heracy or something like that. Contact the gutter press and send them a picture of you outside the ground with a glum face. That'll do the trick.

Most of these over PC rules are made by over protective uber lefty whiteys not at the request of any minority, infact most of the minorities find the fact they're supposed to be offended offensive in itself.

Can you attach it to an Albanian, or a Latvian perhaps? And what if they are intellegent?

jolly-olly Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Every other country can show off their national flag with pride. It's only in England where there seems to be a problem and it's a fecking joke.
