Megson moves in with surprise ?650,000 bid for Wolves midfielder Davies

Gary Megson has lined up a shock ?650,000 raid on Wolves for midfielder Mark Davies. Bolton manager Megson is ready to poach Davies from Molineux after tabling a firm bid for the 20-year-old on Thursday night.

Davies is currently on loan at League One leaders Leicester City, who made a ?300,000 bid earlier this week, but now he is bound for the Barclays Premier League.

I see your point, however it is a generalisation. My disappointment is based on the fact that whilst bringing in youngsters for the future is always positive, we also live in the now. We desperately premiership recruits, and even though no-one knows what is happening behind the scenes, with 8 days to go i don't mind admitting that I am concerned by my perceived lack of activity by the club. I just hope that the scilence is based on a lot of work behind the scenes, culminating in a signing that will impress.

In which case, keep your powder dry and contain your disappointment at least until the transfer window closes.

IF I was a player and a club came in for me, I'd take a look on t'internet forums. If the lad comes across this one, he'll run a fucking mile if he's got any sense.

And perhaps you could contain your generalisations as well

Only if he doesn't read t'internet forums (forii ?) of all the other clubs ...

You quite clearly missed my point, so I'm quite happy to clarify it.

I said: Unfortunately, because he's not an established Premier league player, Megson's on a hiding to nothing.

I mean it this way: if he signs him, folk oan that he's a cheap, inexperienced option.

If he doesn't sign, he'll get moaned at for missing out for a relatively inexpensive young English talent.

Ergo, GM's on a hiding to nothing.

Some people would find fault if he bought Kaka and Messi.

Thanks for the clarification, Traf. I thought you were talking about people's assumptions that an experienced player is always better than a young player.

Anyway, only 8 days to go. Should be interesting.

No problem, mate.

Although I'm not sure what Muzzle's problem is.

It wasn't a generalisation.

It was and still is a fact. The fact that there is a an amount of Bolton fans who will always regard a Megson decision as a bad one.

Although I'm not sure what Muzzle's problem is.

IMHO, the poor lad has never got over being sickened.

Muzzle what is your problem? You have already said that bringing youngsters in is positive. The fact that he is English is a bonus as well. Megson's decision to buy a top young player Cahill last season turned out to be a very important one.

You say that we desperately need premiership recruits, I disagree. Megson is good enough to keep us up with the squad that has already stuck by him, and he has added to.

If Bolton's record transfer fee player hadn't been so unlucky with injuries we would be one of a few teams looking for that last Uefa Cup spot at the end of the season.

Agree with most of that. What people need to understand is that we are building for the future. Most of us are completely confident that Megson will keep us up this season, i do not doubt that at all. When we do get through to the end of this season, we will have a very strong core running through the team, with bright young talent coming through. Summer will then be the time to do more business and really push the team forward.

"Most of us are completely confident that Megson will keep us up this season" cant agree with that statemen well at least the first 3 words!

Well i am one of those who is confident that we will.

And if not, bring on next season. I am a BWFC supporter not a Premier League one.

100 % agree with that we been in situation before.

Would be nice to be both for a few years to come yet tho!

Spot on! Doesnt matter what division we are in. Premiership is beginning to get stupid, would probably be a better craic if we ever go back down.

Tis very true.

Bolton's for life not just for the Premier League.

I am please to say I have seen the wanderers home and away in every division.

These glory hunters that have only ever seen them in the Prem don't know they are born <_<

Oi you - stop posting on transfer speculation threads unless you have something to report. All I saw on the front page was 'last post by tylswhite' and I know feel let down.

Not havin a dig at you fruitbat, but your post raises an interesting point.

If people aren't bothered about relegation, or more to the point wtaching football in the lower divisions, then why don't the club spend some money and try and get some success, if it all falls flat, and we 'do a Leeds' as people are on here are quick to point out, then so what??.

If in 5 years Leeds are back in Prem league, and we have managed to cling on until then with the current management set up, who would have had the better time as fans??? It may not have been us in the Premier Legue land of milk & honey!!!

i will be there what ever division we are in, cant say i am enjoying this one at the moment.

If we stay up (and i think we will have some idea about that after the next three games ) i just pray the football will improve next season!

Wolves website states he is on his way to someone in next couple of days. SSN mentioned Wigan but i think that was a mistake.

Is he really going to sort out our current problems of going forward and creating chances/scoring or is he one for the future?!

Well i think Cahill's in the same kind of catagory as this guy and he's come up trumps! I trust Megson!
