Not much happening yet, but with the season now at an end a few names will be popping up. Firstly, we need to get Klasnic signed up and get Wiltshire back on loan for another 6 months/season.

 

Dindane has been mentioned in the rags, which I think would be a decent requisition. Personally ide get rid on Elmo, and get a physical striker i.e. Dindane and a pacey one.

We're being linked with a move for Nugent again today, and whilst on the bench there may be some value to be had, he is a million miles away from what we need at the moment up front. Klasnic for me is a must, plus a pacy striker. Chopra looked handy yesterday and might be a decent alternative to Nugent. We are now very light up front, with Vaz Te and Harsanyi both gone, Ward to return.

With Vaz Te & Harsanyi gone we're no worse off in terms of playing staff, we're a few grand better off every week & we're all better off that we won't have to see Vaz Te in a Bolton shirt again.

I would be reasonably happy with either or Klasnic/Nugent, another striker who would suit our style of play would be Bothroyd,I know he has had previous chances but I feel he would be a Kevin Davies type of signing when he came to Bolton, still think we need to add another top striker to the 2 -3 we have been linked with and I would like to see a fair bit of cash splashed in that direction to get the guaranteed quality.

Just don't see Nugent as good enough to make any difference to us.Can't get into Pompeys team = not good enough for us. Nugent is a Blackpool type signing, we really need to be aiming higher i.e Klasnic and one other.

On the subject of records, up to this season, Nugent has scored 18 goals in 88 appearances for no less than Bury in Div 2, 33 goals in 94 for PNE in the Championship, and 3! goals in 31 for Portsmouth including none at all in the season when they came 8th in the Premiership. Pompey got him out because he was a failure there, nothing to do with his wages. They still took on the likes of Dindane on mega wages.

You may be right that Nugent isn't a Premiership goalscorer - he's certainly unproven at that level

 

But

 

Pompey never gave him a chance - most of his games were wide right

You say he's not particularly quick - you've obviously not seen much of him, because the one thing he does have is pace - ask any Nob End or even Pompey supporter and they'll tell you that much

 

Either way, Nugent wouldn't be the solution to all of our issues, but I'd say a valuable contribution to the squad
