Holden - out for 6 months

Featured Replies

This is worse than the feeling when Rooney broke his foot in the Euro's and before the 2006 WC or when Beckham broke his foot before 2002.

I can't remember a major player being out for so long for Bolton, probably when Jay Jay went to the African Nations, Jussi in 2007 with his back.

Would rather have lost 5-0 on saturday and have had Holden still fit.

It must be ligament or muscle damage with it being that long.

why is it months and not weeks? seems like a bloody long time?

if it really is that serious, is he actually gonna come back from it?

as mentioned from the time of the injury, the worry was always that it could be ligament damage

now, there was the obvious wound, but the reaction of the players - who must've seen plenty 'cuts' - maybe suggested there was something else they could see?

i dunno, but i'm guessing ligament damage and would expect to hear the word 'cruciate' mentioned soon

odds are he'll be back...given time

Could have sliced/damaged a crucial nerve/tendon.

I once had knee problems at school when I played footy, it used to give way, I was once playing on Prems and it gave way and my face went straight in the advertising boards, my doctor said I'd need surgery when I'm 21, but after appointments and treatment without surgery, my knee got better and wasn't has bad as I first thought.

Really dissapointed for him, he has been superb for us. I just hope he can bounce back, and there are no recurring problems.

Awwwwww....im shedding a million tears, a promise, I am !!

FWIW, Marouane, HAS has a season ender, in his last 2 seasons, shit happens !

I'm sure I'm not alone in not giving a shiney shite about Everton's injuries. The day I am I'll pop along and have a fishing trip on theBigBlueBindip.com or wherever it is they lurk and let them know about the latest shit that is indeed, happening.

This thread is about Stuart Holden's injury, I'll be cleaning it up later. If you want to waste time and effort posting stuff that's going to get deleted shortly then please carry on.

So you smashed your face in surgery was required on your knee?

Not felt this bad since Peter Reid got done, I hope it is not cruciate as the lad is a diamond of a player and seems a top kid as well.

Looking at that pic up there and the pic of the gash, I reckon he's damaged his iliotibial band.

gutted for the lad, really am

Discussing it on TalkSport now...

Anyone emailed Dr Richard Steadman yet?

Come on, I know there's a few specialist knee surgeons on here.

Suggest we wait until the lad tweets what specifically is wrong and what he has had done first.

Nightmare. We'll struggle to win another game this season

what an absolute load of bollocks, hope the negatives like you stay away from wembley or we are doomed

Poor bloke, after seeing how happy he was after the quarter final singing with the crowd. People don't get what they deserve, massive kick in the face for us but hopefully someone will step in and play out of their skin, it'll make the story all the better when we win it..

It is a shame, as the lad has been playing really well this season.

If it would have been any other United player, I would have thought it was not accidental, but Evans is not exactly yourn typical dirty red twat, is he ??

he may never play for Bolton again !!!

You think you have bad luck....Saha out for the season!

Is this were I react then in the next post you put a picture of a fish on the end of the line? This is about Holden being out for 6 months and missing the rest of the season. Nothing else.

Some people going a bit over the top here.

Season over cos he's out?? Fuck off, if he was that good, he'd not be at Bolton.

We're not a one man team. We're talking about a player who's scored 2 and made 2 all season. Not Xaxi or Iniesta.

Get a grip, Mark Davies will not let us down :good:

I do like him BTW

Two major injuries in, what, 14 months ?

Maybe Holden is one of those unfortunate players who seem to 'attract' injuries, and have their career shortened. I very much hope not - he seems a nice lad & has done wonders for us in a short time. A chance to play at Wembley & this happens - I feel for the lad.

From a club point of view, OC needs to find some extra midfield cover in the summer.

From a squad point of view, they need to roll up their sleeves and make up for Holden's temporary loss - as I'm sure they will.

So are we calling Gardner back from PNE then? If his knees hold up he can do a job in the centre til end of the season covering for MDavies when needed.

I'm sure that Mark Davies and Tamir Cohen will be up for the task

Phil Brown was raving about him on Friday, he was in the bookies on COR, and said he was ripping it up in training.
