SpiritofBurnden Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I didn't disappear as someone has trawled through to find a previous post i made after we beat Brum away You posted it after we beat FULHAM away in the F.A. Cup you clown. I even gave you the answer! Owen Coyle's tactics didn't seem to be concerning you quite as much back then.
captainmed Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I saw you with my own eyes a few year ago at Wigan away. You spent the whole 90 minutes slagging off Megson for his shit tactics and being defensive. What exactly is it you want us to do? Simple answer, play less open football away from home.
Garrp Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 You join the list as another one who tries to defend something which after 17 away premier league games is un-defensible. I see were 8th in the best league in the world. Im more than happy you see what you want and moan I could name you 100 other clubs who would swap positions with us tomorrow.

FFS i am fed up of saying it. Results, stats do the talking in late April not me.

My comments relate to away form, tactics, formations and results and nothing else. Overall its been a fantastic season i agree.

SpiritofBurnden Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 FFS i am fed up of saying it. Saying what? We're great, or we're shit? Which is it this week?
Take Hunt Off Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 in my opinion although we have become a soft touch away fron home its down to confidence or lack of it due to the bad run rather than tactics. In quite a few of these games we could & should have gained some points : last nine League games Sunderland - not great but should have had a point (Klasnic last minute missed a sitter) Chelsea - maybe nowt but did'nt play that badly Liverpool - point robbed due to myopic linesman Stoke - deserved zilch Spurs - again not smashing but a point was lost Newcastle - point gained no more than we deserved Urinal - could have been three points if Taylor could head a ball, but one point was gifted away Brum - as bad as we were we had the chances to have taken at least a point. Fulham - again deserved nothing. We do need two new fullbacks however Knight & Cahill did'nt play that badly last night but the space allowed down the flanks was scary . The protection given by Chungy & Taylor was'nt great but we have the worst FB's in the league by a mile.

Boothy Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Could of, would of, should of. All in all, a great rollercoaster season and the most enjoyable in years. Take the highs with the lows, or we will all end up like City fans!
Didledee Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) Bolton have been a joy to watch at home and a lot of teams just can't handle us. 2 wins out of 17 in away games is very poor though, however I don't think we've given performances to match these results, well sometimes we have, but I wouldn't say all the time. Looking at our defeats in the League away from home, there are games we should have got more points and TURNING points have gone against us. Of course this will be the case for other clubs also, but if we can cut out the silly individual mistakes, take our chances, then our away form wouldn't look as bad. Arsenal loss 1-4 - Cahill shouldn't have been sent off, we were still 2-1 behind at the time, but 4-1 was a bit harsh. Villa draw 1-1- We completely outplayed them, should have won, the performance was terrific. West Brom draw 1-1 - After being 1-0 up through Elmander, Petrov missed an absolute glorious chance to make it 2-0, but put his 1 on 1[albeit on an angle] wide. Everton draw 1-1 - A 1-0 performance ruined by Lee's stupid mistake by not not clearing his lines and a shot from Beckford that misses 99% of the time. Sunderland loss 0-1 - Their keeper made a miracle save from Knight, Klasnic came on and had about 5 chances to score, deserved more in this game on reflection of chances and performance. Chelsea loss 0-1 - Once again we was not given a stone wall penalty at Stamford Bridge, a very close onside decision was the difference, even though we gave them a good game. Liverpool loss 1-2 - Last minute lucky goal for them, was it offside, could Elmander have done better? Stoke loss 0-2 - Didn't deserve anything from this, stupid tackle by Knight for their penalty. Spurs loss 1-2 - After equalizing through Sturridge, Cahill somehow got booked for diving, it was a clear penalty, Spurs won it in stoppage time to a goal that once again misses 99% of the time. Newcastle draw 1-1 - Should have beaten 10 men with that long left, we could have easily have lost it though. Man United loss 0-1 - A 0-0 at Old Trafford performance up until Jussi fucked it up on 87 minutes. Birmingham loss 1-2 - How we lost this I'll never know, oh yes I do, it was Foster v Bolton. It's easy to pick out moments in games, but on reflection there is enough to suggest we could have easily have had better results/picked up more points from our away games. Decent full backs been my priority last two summers, was hoping last year we'd found one in alonso. Pity
Gonk Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Bolton have been a joy to watch at home and a lot of teams just can't handle us. Looking at our defeats in the League away from home, How the fuck would you know?
Casino Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 and we haven't been a fcuking joy to watch at home we've been effective (most of the time) with the odd cracking performance chucked in, usuyally when elmander has played well anybody saying otherwise has their head in the clouds or up their backside BUT we'll finish top 10...so i'll take that kind of being found out ps have we fcuked everybody off in this thread yet...i've seen cohen, mumaba and the full backs outed as shite pps the crappy feed i watched showed us with more possession than fulham in the first half...read into that what you will about our inability to keep the ball ppps tony, tony, tony cee...keep taking the tablets
Casino Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 pppppppps our lack of pace up front means teams can defend on the half way line needs addressing
Casino Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Mugson and Gartslime out. have you been banned by burnden racists?

One match and I think every single player in the starting 11 was criticised. In a nutshell, Wanderers er, fans er, supporters, er well, I don't actually know what they are but fans and supporters certainly doesn't sit well; anyway, some folk aren't happy unless they're proving their ability as a talent scout is much better than Owen Coyle's and the rest of the Bolton coaching staff!
jolly-olly Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 the whole of british football witnesseed our mauling at the hands of Stoke. That came after an unexpectedly easy game against WHU, who didn't close down, tackle and rush us. Petrov had time on the ball and elmander almost looked like a half decent midfielder. But Stoke was always going to be a physical, powerful fight and off the back of the easy win against WHU, the defeat wasn't surprising, albeit the size of it was! Therefore Fulgham last night have emulated Stoke's style in closing down and not letting us play. Blackburn and Blackpool will do exactly the same tactic. Can we rise to the physical challenge. Afterall, only a couple of seasons ago, we were the physical bully boys of the premier league, now we are getting a taste of our own medicine we are apparently failing miserably? I'll take 8th in the Prem if that is what you call failing.

Would agree with all that - only three away games where we have been outplayed and desearved nowt - Arsenal, Stoke and Fulham - oh and Stoke again at that shithole
Casino Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 city battered us spurs should have been 5 after 15 minutes
