My day went like this :

 

At 6.15am I got a text message asking me if I was awake. Well I wasn't before I got it but after waking and reading it, I replied to my mate Liam that i would be ready to leave at 7AM instead of 7.45!

 

Once picked up we had a good craic all the way down the M6 & M55 to Blackpool where we arrived at 8.05AM. we parked at the Travelodge next to the ground and set off on foot into town. We walked about 150yds and found the grimiest and greasiest cafe we could on Lytham Road (the Renmont or something like that) and had a full greasy breakfast. Excellent!! and we had a few off the head jokes about the old girl who lost her head in Tenerife.

 

We then went for a walk down the front, past The Manchester (It is totally fucked compared to it used to be 20 yrs ago) and down to the North pier where we went into the amusement arcade and played the 2P Kentucky Derby game for a bit, By then it was 9.30AM and I thought beer O'clock so it was a necessity to find a pub. We walked back down the front and saw a Wetherspoons ( can't remember it's name) only to be told it was families and couples only and despite my best mincing I couldn't convince the bouncer that we were gay!!

 

We walked back down the front and we found the Castle was open. I laid into the lager and had about 5 or six rapid ones while it was quiet!!

 

 

It was a good laugh in there once the Wanderers fans started to arrive and I met a few lads i knew from years ago and I think I saw Frandsen08, though wasn't sure so didn't make a twat of myself by asking a stranger if he was a Wanderersways subscriber!I had another few cheeky pints then it was time to go.

 

We then went to the game which I really enjoyed, though our defending was schoolboy to say the best. Steinsson would have been better sitting in my seat and let me stop Puncheon rip us apart.

 

I looked around for people who looked depraved and a little lady who is orange (sorry NB but that's the best description of you I've got) with no success.

 

Come the final whistle we left and flew back up the M6 to watch the second half of the FA cup final in my mates local. Shite game but who cares.

 

I had an other 4 or 5 pints and a taxi home.

 

So that's it.

Well... I was sitting at home watching my 4 walls about 6 this evening, listening to Oasis when my phone rang and it was my dearest wife.

 

She says, I will come round with some DVDs for you (I've still no TV) and bring you a bit of shopping while I'm coming and by the way I've got some mail for you. I thought, fair enough, can't do no harm because I am totally skint (got ?40 to last me until 15th of June, though rent is paid and I owe nobody anything).

 

She came around ok and gave me 50 quid (remember I gave her half my wage last Friday) to go to Asda where I bought enough food to do me at least a week on the promise I pay her back. I thought, fuckin hell, she has become a human again but oh was I wrong. She then produced the mail and in it was her petition for divorce which she wanted me to sign there and then because it would cost "us" thousands if I didn't

 

I told her that I would at least have to read it and when I did I have been cited for divorce on the grounds of "unreasonable behaviour" on my part. Apart from liking a drink, she couldn't give me another example of any unreasonable behaviour. Why the fuck should I give her an easy way out and take the blame for something I didn't and still don't want?

 

All that said, the end result is going to be the same and I'm not a vindictive person so why should the courts and lawyers (hers, because I can't afford to go to one) make money. I told her I would think about it and she went off on one calling me all the cunts under the sun.

 

I will sign it I think, there's no point in the legal profession making thousands, I'm not a vindictive person and I just want to move on if I can.

Deadly serious here now.

 

Ask her how much she estimates her legal bill will be. Tell her you'll sign it out of court for half the amount of the legal fee.

 

This'll give you a few quid to get yourself sorted with TV, broadband etc. You'll still have your pride/dignity, because you've taken nothing else from the marital home (as you wanted) and everyone can start to move on.

 

If she wants it sorted quickly: there's a reason. Either get some money off her or find what is behind her apparent haste and utilise that to your advantage.

PS If you're as skint as you say: you should be contesting the divorce, as you'll be able to get legal aid.

Get a free consultation with a brief before agreeing to anything.

Jazza keep a diary of what happens , at the moment the website can do it, evidence to back you up if you decide to change your mind and I'm not saying you will, any agreement between you and the missus should be signed and copied for both parties

I had to claim legal aid once and I was working. I still had to pay some but it made it affordable. See someone before you sign anything.

 

If you come into a lump some of money though for any reason for a few years after (5 I think off the top of my head), the government take their money back out of it.

Legal Aid will still be available, Jazza. It's means tested and your low-ish income should get you some help.

Jazza, just get some advice on separating your finances. From what I recall from a colleague, if you've ever been associated with a person financially (like a mortgage or joint bank account) then you're still responsible for their debts. If they run up debt even if you're not still together, they'll come after you. Let the banks & mortgage folk know & make sure your lawyer gets something sorted to say you won't be responsible for any debts.

If your wife wants you to sign legal documents without even reading them by trying to sweeten you up with a few quid and groceries she might not of been 100% honest with you on the financial front. Legal aid and dig up everything she's got, your going to have to Jezza.

You said in a earlier post she will take the ?50k debt on what's built up, but who's to say she ain't got another bank account with ?100k in it. With her being sneaky trying to get you to sign the Divorce papers I wouldn't trust her, sounds harsh but it's true.

Have I missed something here? What is her huge rush to actually get divorced? If you're on your arse financially then why can't she just wait a few months for you to get your finances in order.

That's exactly my thoughts, what's her fuckin rush? I believe she's already ditched my name and has started to use her maiden name. It's up to her.

 

I feel really shit about it, I still love her with all my heart and have had to get psychiatric help to help me through the week. I am going to sign the petition just to move on. I'm not in a place mentally where I can fight my corner. It's not worth the hassle.

You know, having something to focus on might help.

 

It all sounds too calculated by her to me, does this. Hate to bring it up, but any chance she might already have someone else on the go? It would certainly strenghten your case.

 

Don't ignore everything and settle for fuck all Jazza. SOunds like you've done very little wrong so no reason whatsoever why she should emerge better off.

 

See a solicitor, can't do any harm to have the free consult and once you have a plan of action it will give you something to concentrate on mate.

 

She sounds ready to take you to the cleaners whilst you're vulnerable. Very, very cold indeed.
