Bobcat Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 (edited) has said that irrelevant of the manager...the players we have are very poor.... i would say that once cahill goes we haven't got a decent defender... midfield holden lee muamba m Davies ...holden and lee won't be seen this season up front n gog and klasnic to a extent ... i would say we are on our arse Edited December 10, 2011 by Bobcat

Casino Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 yes, but tbh i have no issue with robinson if the team is set up properly and we've got ricketts and alonso and bogdan
tarian1979 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 that team u name could have enough all starting again in august, but not from 9 points after 15 games giving swansea and norwich 8 and 10 points start
HomerJay Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Mavies is decent IMO In fact I reckon you could put him in a team a lot better than ours and he wouldn't look out of place.
superkev Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Anyone who thinks we are staying up is deluded. Wave goodbye to the prem and welcome to the abyss
tarian1979 Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Mavies is decent IMO In fact I reckon you could put him in a team a lot better than ours and he wouldn't look out of place. i agree, maybe he just doesnt suit playing with static, clueless clowns who cant string 4 passes together
no balls Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Mavies is decent IMO In fact I reckon you could put him in a team a lot better than ours and he wouldn't look out of place. He didn't make a forward pass today that I can recall though. Sideways, sideways, fucking sideways, every time. That pissed me off.
MickyD Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Who was it that got the ball in acres of space in their D just outside the penalty area. The crowd held their collective breath as they simultaneously uttered "SHOOT!" and his leg was raised and came down forcefully onto the ball and. . . He passed it out to the winger stood over at the East Stand. FUCKING HAVE A GO. IT'S HOW HEROES ARE MADE!
frank_spencer Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 M. Davies has cut out his headless chicken runs into the Centre Half, he now just passes it sideways.
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 He didn't make a forward pass today that I can recall though. Sideways, sideways, fucking sideways, every time. That pissed me off. Hate to point this out, but you can only pass to where the players are... if all the players are to the side of him, what the hell else is he supposed to do?!?

Thanks for the footballing lesson but I can assure you there were players in front he could've passed to. Maybe the tv angle you had didn't show them.
HomerJay Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I don't recall many times when a forward pass was available that he didn't take. Now I'm not one for barca type football, but mavies is that type of player. He just keeps the ball moving, in any direction, without fear of being ridiculed because every pass isnt defence splitting. Our forwards are so static, its hardly worth passing to them anyway

I might be wrong, but he just passed rather than looked for something he could himself.

KP Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 (edited) Rather than moving the ball, I saw it as him not wanting to keep it yesterday. I might be wrong, but he just passed rather than looked for something he could himself. Mavies is the only player in our team comfortable on the ball and willing to keep hold of it. With 2 wingers and 2 strikers who feed off crosses, maybe he was told to get it out wide whenever possible, in order to get those crosses in. The bigger problem on the attacking front, was the fact that once out wide, our wingers and full backs couldn't muster enough space to get that effective cross in. It didn't help that Eagles was on the wrong side and the full back knew he wanted to cut inside everytime. We just don't have 2 strikers who you'd want to be passing directly to. We have a million problems before Mark Davies ffs. Edited December 11, 2011 by KP
no balls Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 We have a million problems before Mark Davies ffs. I didn't say we didn't ffs. His name was brought up, I made an observation. Apologies.
KP Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I didn't say we didn't ffs. His name was brought up, I made an observation. Apologies. It wasn't particularly directed at you ffs, it was more the fact that he is brought up before 9 or 10 others, when he is one of our only positives these days. Apologies.

Shame really as IMO that lad was the hottest prospect I had seen pull on a white shirt. I know its papering over the cracks but fuck me its all been a freefall since that cunt Johhny Evans done a job on him. I would love to know what would have happened and where we would be now if it was not for that. I dont think our slide would have been so dramatic.
superjohnmcginlay Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Holden may never be the player he was after the injury
no balls Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I think that's down to lack of confidence (in self and others) rather than lack of ability. That was my point exactly.
