If Something Good Can Come Out Of This

yes footballers are overpaid

yes, many are way out of touch with reality

but, theyre just like us when it comes down to it

pratley, absolutely, totally distraught seeing his team mate

miyachi, way too young to be stood watching...and watch he did....dunno if he was in shock

steinnson - shaking on the touchline

davies jumping in the ambulance cos thats what davies does

reo coker

in fact, all of em, not least coyle and garty

nobody has been more critical of coyle and some of his signings, but fcuking hell, these are our lads

when we get them back, i'll be showing them what they mean to me - even if they are shit :)

come on whites...lets come back stronger than ever

  • Hopefully as well this incident will make a few of our fans grow up. Maybe some will think before singing about aeroplanes or dead chairmen.

  • I think this is a game-changer for football   Bolton Wanderers will now be different, but we don't yet know how

  • Imagine if this had been an opposition player at The Reebok and we had those twonks on the drum doing that ridiculous cheat chant.

Great post.

I think it's reminded me that although modern football makes us sometimes feel like BWFC is some faceless corporation, it's not. This is a family club. This has affected us from top to bottom. Very proud to be a Wanderer this week the way we've handled it.

I certainly wouldn't have wanted anyone else to show the club's compassionate side than Owen Coyle. The reason is, we can all see that he means every single word of what he says.

THIS is our season's turning point. One we'd all rather not have but nontheless, I think this will galvanise the playing staff and the supporters because, as we've already said, the football isn't the important part of the rest of the season.

great post mate....

its hard to beleve this is a bolton wanderers player here.

world wide recognition and support, from moscow to madrid, for one ours.

absoloutley unbelevable.

This is it now, our season MUST kick on from here.

The drums are shit but it's dickheads in the crowd who add 'cheat'.

It may be so, but they wouldn't be chanting it if the drums didn't start it off.

Great post.

My dad, Reebok tour guide, spoke on BBC news yesterday. He is pretty close to players and was quite emotional talking about Fab, but managed to Get across that we are a family club and all we all want to see is his smiling face back at the reebok.

Owen and BWFC has acted with quiet dignity ,words of compassion and humanity

Cas has summed it all up. There'll be no need for a pre-match pep talk from OC for any game for the rest of the season other than ?let's do this for Fab?

It has shown we are a great club. Hopefulyl it will make some of our fans think on and maybe grow up a bit.

If the players werent together before they will be after this. This shows that we all need each other and to stick together through the hard times rather than fall out and spit the dummy out. The players need to pick themselves up and fight to give Fab the option of bein a premier league footballer if or when he ever wants to comes back.

This for me.

And I have to say, that from usually a very bitter, angry and hatefull bunch of fans, Bolton fans have shown lots of class and dignity themselves, I have been suprised.

To be honest, this can said of all football fans at the moment.

BWFC and all involved have come out of this with great credit for the way we have conducted ourselves. I include the supporters in this, we have all pulled together with support for Fab and his family. We have to keep this togetherness for the rest of the season and onwards.

I also think we will have some affection for Spurs too with the way they also conducted themselves - quick response from the medical team was crucial and there fans were also superb.

Imagine if this had been an opposition player at The Reebok and we had those twonks on the drum doing that ridiculous cheat chant.

Actualy that's made me think of one minor blessing, which is that it happened completely off the ball. Whatever gremlins were working at his system presumably meant that it was going to happen there and then come what may. But if someone just happened to have put in a hefty challenge at that point, or worse still had come in with some brief retaliatory malice then whatever anyone said to the contrary they'd be haunted by the thought that maybe they'd caused it - and who knows what that would do to your ability to carry on in the game.

lovely post mate.

I'm overwhelmed by all the support our fab and club has received. Proud to be a wanderer.

Hopefulyl it will make some of our fans think on and maybe grow up a bit.

I think some of our fans may have grown up already.I haven't seen the word "munichs" posted once since Saturday night.

Well it has been now

Well it has been now

And there was no need to reference that club anyway in any conversations this weekend. There's always one with a dig.

Still, you can't pick your family, can you?

Not sure if your on another wind up, but all clubs have the same mix of notrights and idiots, its not exclusive to one or two clubs you know.

I did change the post mate.

And you are right, but 90% of my pals are Bolton, thats all I see / hear.

Spurs have suprised me too, fair play.

Obviously people's true self has come out in this time, rather than the fake hooligan wanna-be they are on FB and forums.

Great post Cas.

As mentioned previously, I've been amazed and admittedly pleasantly surprised by the way fans of other clubs have talked about Muamba. He's not a high profile player, yet to see the likes of West Ham fans, who certainly have never particularly liked , saying they'd give up promotion if it meant Fab would be okay really moved me.

I have little doubt that in a few weeks time and (With God's help) Fab is well on the way to recovery, that football will revert back to it's 'old' self.

BUT

What the last few days have shown me is despite the seeming hatred and nastiness, football fans are still human beings at the end of the day and when something as tragic and upsetting as this happens, everyone pulls together.

It is something I will never forget, nor should anyone.

this is the thing though. this weekend has certainly made me reasses my hatred for the bin dippers as i can now relate to how some of them feel.

Emma Davies. Not everyone's cup of tea. But a nice article about our club.

My main gripe with Mrs KD is that she can't keep her mouth shut and her nose of stuff that doesn't involve her.

However, apart from the irrelevant inclusion of Vernon Kay, that was a decent piece from her.

Hopefully it won't be another 9yrs before the next one.
