Nowt worse than being aroused from a deep slumber by a sharp crack of lightning. I love being in bed when it's thundering and lightning, must be a throw back to the safety of a cave or something? AccuWeather saying anytime from midnight and again tomorrow afternoon. The sound of summer rain in the night is tremendous. Petrichor is also magnificent. I do have a slight dread of a searing flash taking out part of a wall though. Especially given the metal flue for the woodburner. Just as well I cleaned the bugger at the weekend, stop it setting alight. Quote

My local brook is up around 6-9 inches and that's just over night. Grass is going to grow like bamboo over the next couple of weeks; just when I go away. I'll be fighting snakes when I come back.
