Good old mobile data did the trick though. More to come over night and tomorrow potentially too. Gardens need it though. Unusually dry for April. Site Supporter MickyD Posted April 24, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted April 24, 2019 Spent all fucking day watering the bowling green after putting granular fertilizer down. As soon as I finished it pissed down.

It was absolutely bob on for yesterday. I do watch them and the Meteorological Office reckoned 70-80% chance of rain. As you'll know, granular fertilizer isn't very forgiving if the 20% chance of it not raining comes in. As it happened it was belt and braces. The rain was very welcome and the watering was a bit of insurance. Besides, in reality, it's great fun telling the bowlers that they're welcome to bowl but beware of the hose lines and sprinklers. It certainly can be a twat that stuff. You could try making your own liquid fertilizer from fermented nettles- loads of them about and doesn't scorch. Though it stinks to high heaven. I've got 5 gallons of liquid fertilizer but the pump on the spreader needs attention.

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 8, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted May 8, 2019 Ridiculous this. Well into May, it's pissing down and the wood burner is on. Veggies seem to have gone to sleep and flower seedlings are hardly moving.
gonzo
Keep hearing it’s meant to turn next week. Wish it’d get a bloody shift on. Smacks of that turbulent summer 2 or 3 years ago.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 9, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted May 9, 2019 It does seem to be warming up next week. Bloody strange though, 20 odd degrees briefly in Feb, warm Easter, but cool now. Hail storm at the cricket yesterday was bonkers.
