Oh dear. Saw a bridge washed away and bits of road. That would cause a problem!

Grinton Bridge is (was) on the course for the main event, the Elite Men's Road Race.

Interesting to see what develops - it took over a year to replace Tadcaster Bridge which had collapsed in 2015.

Was that not down to the bloke who owns Sam Smith's brewery and most of tadcaster being an are?

Whalley bridge evacuated as fears of a dam collapse!

Part of a wall has already gone and a severe flood warning (threat to life) issued.

Bad shit this, like a movie.

Sound of Music?

That looks seriously perilous. Hope they can drain it through the sluices and then get the repair work done.

Pumped out enough to drop the level 8 inches so far.

When something like this happens, I do wonder if it can be repaired, or whether they'd have to start again. Seems to be a big gap in the grassed area too. Didn't see that yesterday, but it might have been the camera angle.

Interestingly, it's owned by the canal and rivers trust, not the water authority. Wonder how readily they could afford to have it all rectified.
