Indias turn this week. It gets absolutely packed. Starts at 8:30pm. Its ace. If you're Bispham end, the best chippy is Bentleys (formerly middle chippy). It's 5 mins walk down Red Bank Rd away from the promenade opposite Sainsburys. Or you can just go for Bispham Kitchen & Top Chippy. More expensive and a tourist trap but its handy all the same. If you are town end, The Yorkshire Fishery on Topping Street is the best by a mile. Again its a bit of a walk inland towards the train station. If you want it easier theres a new all singing and dancing Papas and of course my namesakes, plus a variety of walk by street ones. Edited October 12, 2023 by gonzo Bellamys not Bentleys * Quote
Site Supporter Cheese Posted October 12, 2023 Site Supporter Posted October 12, 2023 Been beautiful on Anglesey today. Clear blue skies and sun. Not that I've seen much of it. Supposed to piss down tomorrow when I have the chance to enjoy some fresh air. Cunt. This 20mph speed limit malarkey will take some getting used to for the locals. Good news for us kerb crawlers though. Far less conspicuous. Quote

Site Supporter Winchester White Posted October 15, 2023 Site Supporter Posted October 15, 2023 Bloody love days like today, blew the cobwebs away with a nice walk with the family and pooch up round Anglezark and Rivi. Was busy though and too many folk with dogs off the lead that shouldn't be as they clearly weren't under control no matter how friendly they supposedly are. Quote
Moderators Casino Posted October 16, 2023 Moderators Posted October 16, 2023 parked up at cleveleys yesterday lovely late afternoon couple of hours with the pooch pretending to be a pup and he didnt realise the water level can drop sharpish when chasing gulls in the pools there's seemingly fortunes being spent on the roads up there @gonzo and not a turd to be seen loads spent on the prom too even the wind farm doesnt look too bad that artworks a bit dodgy tho, with a lump sticking out at head height! loaded the doggo up and drove into blackpool to see the lights 20 mins was enough looks great all lit up, but the folk, its not for me Quote

tomski Posted October 16, 2023 Posted October 16, 2023 This is where I collectively hate the people who moaned about the heat we get for about 2 weeks a year for a good few days. Quote

Yeah its further up on the way to Fleetwood. That's my gym next door to that cinema. That pub has had various attempts but all seem to fail. Longest standing was when it was Harvesters. Its just fucked in the winter, nobody is going up there for a pint in 50mph wind and rain. God knows what they'll try next. I never get bored of that beach and front. So good for the lungs and soul. Tide goes miles out and comes all way back in twice a day, very roughly an hour later each time. Quote

Sacked off our walk along the Tees- River not particularly high, although rising, but there are plenty of pieces of tree all over. Discretion perhaps required as there are some massive trees around here and it's blowing a hooley. Quote
