yes he did but that was (in my opinion) because he said openly he wanted to try and improve the playing style of the team and move away from the SKD route 1 style (that we are still using to this day)

  • I'd say that we were far from "certain relegation" despite the Sammy Lee era; we still had a cohesiveness within the squad and the results under Lee were not reflective of our abilities. It was an ach

  • Can I be first to say.   I'd take him. He knows the league, plays attractive football and in my opinion is just as good as Pardew.   Shite lazy journalism though.

Who cares about a "feel good factor" - we just need to get rid of the "presuming we're going to lose even before a balls been kicked factor"

I actually lost that in pre sesason when we put our new squad together

though it's soon come back again

Yes i would have Curbs tomorrow to replace Owen Coyle who wouldn't?

Its worth getting rid so the backroom staff follow him.

lets suppose OC went and Curbishley came in and failed.

what would the arguments be then?

he`s old hat, he`s boring, he`s negative, out of work for 4 yrs we should have known he`d lost it, we need some one new, a young up and coming Manager, someone who plays good football, etc, etc.

which is what we have now only he`s having a bad run.

A bad run ? 29 deafeats in 47 league matches over 17 months with 96 goals conceded ?

Must be a world record for a professional club manager keeping his job.

What exactly would constitute a football reason for sacking a manager then ?

Nobody could do much worse than Coyle is doing now imo. A fucking chimpanzee could coach our lot how to defend better for starters.

I know this partly a joke :) . . . I know you don't think a monkey [let alone one in the middle of a sexual act] could really do any sort of job as a football coach . . . but I'd just like to ask [ anyone who is listening ] if they thought coaching was to blame for our woeful defending?

I'm not sure you can coach defenders to be as poor as our defence have been in the last few months?

I think confidence and lack of ability is to blame on the whole!

I'm not going to have a go at the same players week in week out and it's certainly Coyles fault for signing them, picking them and not replacing them when we all knew they were rubbish!

My opinion is coaching decent players is easy!

Riley should be playing and we may as well be getting the attacking benefits of Alonso too as he's no worse a defender!

Losing Wheater could quite possibly be as bad for the team as losing Holden was all those months ago.

No, but a lack of it can result in woeful defending. Professional footballers need coaching & guidance, as well as those wankerss with iPads who know the other teams strengths and weaknesses & can advise the stats on this.

We appear to be lacking in all of these.

Isn't he out for quite a while?

G Nev?

G Nev?

I can only dream we'd get him in our back room.

I can only dream i'd get him in my back bedroom.

He got sacked because we were shite, bottom three and the club was a mess, there was so much hatred.

But Bayern, oh what a night. We are light years away from organising a team like that.

Its not just the defenders its the whole team. You need to defend as a team and have good shape, these are things that are coached. Our midfielders all bomb on willy nilly and our fullbacks just do whatever they fancy fucking doing. Coyles philosophy of just go out and enjoy yourselves is not good enough.

But Bayern, oh what a night. We are light years away from organising a team like that.

It was a great draw but imo Bayern got passed us at ease, Ribery was outstanding, so was Al Habsi iirc, but obviously a 2-2 draw there deserves a lot of praise, was that or beating Man United 1-0 at home our best result under Megson.

Just the thought of Curbishley assisted by Sammy Lee fills me full of confidence.

That is all.

It was a great draw but imo Bayern got passed us at ease,

so we were even shit when we werent shit?

theres 2 teams on every pitch you know, we`re not playin gagainst the dustbins

Alan Curbishley as manager.

Megson - Did an excellent job, Ginger Mourhinio and all that but when he tried to change the style of play nobody would give him the time to work through it, hounded out of the club

Sorry but what the fuck??

We were dropping like a stone under that cunt and he was ripping the place apart. Wed have been relegated under him IMO and the players had no confidence whatsoever

He regularly brought our club into disrepute; that's the lowest of the low

Just because Coyle doesn't know his arse from his elbow, that doesn't make Megson an excellent Manager all of a sudden. Well maybe he is; I mean, he's picked up a top level job since leaving us hasn't he?.....oh wait.....

Oh yeah sorry, no it's the fans' fault isn't it?!

With some people on here, Jules, it's ALWAYS the fans fault, ALWAYS excellent players and managers being hounded out, and so on and so on.

I put it down to excessive fear of change.

We have a defensive coach, Steve Davis, fuck knows where Sandy Clarke played, but from what I see neither offers anything to the cause.
