This (IMO) is the over-riding factor in all of this. Scousers wanting compo.

 

96 people died due to a series of bad decisions made by their own fans, the FA, Sheffield Wednesday FC, the police and the ambulance service. (in no particular order of accountability)

This just shows the attitude the Thatcher government and the police had at the time towards football fans across the country. Absolutely scandalous that it has taken so long for this to come out. I have the greatest respect for the families that kept fighting for the truth, when they knew full well that there had been a cover up. Agreed that the mention of compo will detract from the findings but I'm sure the families haven't fought for so long for the compo.
