We've just played what was the top 4 in a row going into the Wolves game, I don't think a run of 1 win, 2 draws and 1 defeat is too bad for a team who's just potted their manager because results were shit.

N'gog definitely needs to come in for KD against blackpool, we look a more attacking threat with a mobile striker who isnt afraid to have a shot on target. I can't remember davies having an attempt on target, nevermind looking like scoring in the last two games. It looks like DF is going to stick with the 4231 formation but i dont think it works with KD. Our play is limited with him in the side & it is easy for the opposition to defend against. To get promoted or even make the play offs in this division you need strikers who can get 15-20 goals and davies wont get 10. We need the lone striker to be running the channels and dragging the centre halfs all over which will create space for our midfielders to get forward more.

Bogdan superb.. we looked much more organised defensively but if he'd not been at his best it'd have been two nil with a lot of different comments on here. We're definitely moving the right way. Ngog should give us miles more options up front, thought the Korean's coming back well, couple more games once we've sorted out the best 11 we'll be a force to be reckoned with.

England prospect?

12 years of Prem football

18 months of rubbish and then Relegation

Knocked out by Crawley in the cup

Bottom half of the League in the Championship

0-0 and outplayed by Leicester, a result that would have been poor when we were in the Prem and we still have the same team, bar some like NRC and Klasnic.

Not surprised by the booing, it's been shite for so long and DF picking the same starting line up wouldn't have helped, that 2nd half v Cardiff showed that he shouldn't play the same team.

Diddles, how is your championship fantasy football team doing?

no idea, I joined the league on here, but haven't checked once since the season started.

And then Ngog goes and spoils it all by doing something stupid like getting himself sent off and therefore not available to play. I feel sure he played himself into the starting 11 against Cardiff.

Our defenders, allowing their winger a couple of acres of pitch in which to wander and wait for the ball helped with that too.

Pratley? we were so much better when he and K.Davies went off.

Petrov and Sordell for me, N'Gog for Blackpool.

really pleased with that point last night. wasn't exceptionally pleasing on the eye, but we were set up solid and organised. they had a couple of good chances, but mostly resorted to shooting from outside the box. without doubt, under coyle we'd have conceded at least twice last night and lost. knight & ricketts superb for me.

well looking forward to blackpool on sat'day.

Have you seen this - Jesus Christ they look as if they've just been told the team they left won 5-0 to go top of the league and the team they just joined got boo'd off at half time & full time by their own "fans" after a creditable goaless draw against a top side............oh hang on

I dont often reply to the drivel of someones alter ego but I'll play - all you have stated is true but what you fail to relaise is that most of us fans are hopeful the decline has been halted and we're making small steps to get back i.e. positive - you or the real you or who ever you are and other fans need to realise despite the success of the last 10 years we're back to where we were when allardyce took over and it's time to get real and give credit for this team and this manager where it's due

Bogdan clearly should of been MOM, not Eagles

If we are to play with a more defensive approach though, it's clear that Eagles will see less of the ball, and be less effective. So it's unfair to expect him and our other attacking players to have the same impact on the game as earlier on in the season.

What ever way you dress it up last night was a very poor fractured performance with only 2 redeeming features which were not eveident under Coyle we were dogged defensively and Bogdan was excellent, judging on last night and Saturday Kevn Davies cannot play uptop on his own and this for me is the big problem the rest of the team is reasonably solid and we just need to add some pace and vitallity to the forward line, Kevin Davies should be used only sparingly and never on his own.

i'm not sure why eagles is asked to play wide left, when its quite obvious his best position is to see lots of ball

ie in the middle, instead of pratley

i think he's a victim of petrov offering nowt defensively

people who are slagging off the performance last night are the same bunch that said that dougies first job was to sure up the defence. two games in he is undefeated and the team have conceded just one goal, organisation is key to what he is trying to implement and that takes time to perfect before we can look at how a solid unit can then produce goals.

I think putting the same starting 11 out again can be excused because the players that people have been moaning about e.g. Davies and Pratley have been defensively solid enough, It’s there attacking play which has not been up to much. having them in the team means that we then still have Petrov and Ngog that can come on and change a game but playing them for 90 minutes now may be risky while we get the defensive unit perfected.

many will say spearing should be in the team and I do in part agree but I can see that we are going with experience to start with which we should be happy to except.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and greatness needs to be built on solid foundations instead of the quick sand that we were used to with Owen.

Leicester were the better side first half.

We were better second half.

Observations were:-

Mills distribution was bloody awaful

Ricketts was the same

Very little happened with KD upfront

Petrov didn't track back towards the end

Bogdan had a good game

Pratley had a reasonable game (by his previous performances)

Schmeicals distribution was awesome - best I have seen from a keeper. How many times did he start attacks going ? Once when Bogdan ran with the ball to the edge of our box, all our players were behind him !!

Leicester were the best team we have played.

To put it in perspective, 4 points off the top 2 teams (albeit at home), for me is a great start.

I don't think he will suffer fools gladly - and its about time.

end of the day, dougie has inherited a right big fuckin mess created by coyle and has to work with some fuckin shit players signed by coyle

it will take time, not going up this season, unless the players here get a grip and realise they are not premiership anymore and have to work like fuck to get the ball, you do n ot get a second on the ball in this league like you do in the premiership

As I said elsewhere, this is a club whose younger support have only ever known Barclays Premier League football. Thinking about it a little further, they have only known days with great players; Okocha, Djorkaeff, Gianokopulos, Campo, Anelka, Hiero,

It was great management by Allardyce at the time but it really fucking spoiled many of the supporters.

Many of us who knew Bolton existed prior to 2001 spent the last ten or eleven years in awe at what our team had become. Watching some of the world's great players has been a joy for many of us. We've enjoyed the ride, thanks for the memories. Now let's move on; together.

For others it became expected that we have top, top players. Unfortunately, those days have now gone. Other clubs have learned from the Bolton model and are now attracting the big name players themselves. This, in turn, dilutes the amount of big players, getting towards the end of their careers.

Some newer supporters need to realise that the last 10 years have been a great journey but the only way to get those days back again is to get behind the team and SUPPORT, not barrack from the side lines.

See I don't subscribe its all the 'new' fans doing this it seems to be young and old, I think football has changed a lot and is often described as entertainment, yes that nice if it happens but I go because I wanna support my home town team regardless as the majority do, but its always the disapproving minority that tends to be heard.

I, as much as the next man would love DF to be a real success at BWFC.

I think we are getting a little giddy over 4 points from 2 home games.

We were a little fortunate against Cardiff and I believe that could be said again last night.

He may have stopped the downward spiral but I would be more interested to see how we fair away at Blackpool, Brighton and Huddersfield before I am getting excited.
