Breightmet Boy Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Posh are a very poor side who's whole team probably earn the same as SKD. I really thought a new manager would sort our problems out but the worst thing is that DF seems no better than Coyle at gettting the team organised. I agree that our team is made up of gutless journeymen / premiership wannabes whom are either a) alot worse than their previous pedegree suggests or B ) are not being managed or coached correctly. Unfortunately we are skint and the worse we do the less likely ED will release funds. Wellmhed be mad to throw more good money at a bad job. Even if we had a fire sale to raise funds for new players who could we sell? Mavies is injured and on current form probably Eagles, Sordell and at a push LCY however I doubt wed be able to pull in £4-5 million in total. Look at Ipswich, is that not the sort of reaction you expected when we got a new manager. He's been here two minutes and you expect him to sort the mess out you toon. Wake up ffs Quote
DomRepWanderer Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 The way I see it is Freedman needs at least 2 windows to get a real feel of his management credentials, to bring up a Megsonism, you cant make a silk purse out of a pigs ear, has it not been mentioned on here that he is not afraid to cancel players contracts if he feels they contribute litttle, then I feel a lot of arses will be twitching in January, and quite rightly, the present squad of players lack any type of leadership, fight, and heart, it will get sorted but there is no quick fix, Coyle has left us in deeper shit than any of us ever thought. Carlos Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Pitch was poor but they looked like scoring every time they attacked. No exaggeration, worse performance I can remember, in context, worse than 5-0 at Sheff Weds. Quote
EyesRight Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Hearing reports of argy bargy after game... Heard the same mate. Down here now. Think we went to the wrong spoons Quote
anewman Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 tis true according to one of their lads pity the fuckin team havent the same spirit Quote
roybarker Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 one player who has started all the games under freedman I think is knight and it sounds like he was at fault for first 2 goals,I hope freedman is fuming at going 3-1 down straight after the restart, very serious work needs to be done with the defence Quote
White79 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) No I dont. I'm saying he hasn't had the impact I hoped for. For instance he hasn't had the impact MM has had at Ipswich so far. FFS, Is it unreasonable to hope that a change of manager will have a positive effect on a struggling club. Change of management style, tactics, training, etc?? He's had 10 games and I hoped he could at least organise the defence so we don't concede like we did under OC. I ain't some delude kid screaming for his head and ill back him as long as hes our manager. I just a new manager coming in would have resulted in a change of fortunes quite quickly (what with this so called premiership quality squad we have). Edited December 22, 2012 by White79 Quote

Can they cancel players contracts like that? Without paying off their wages? DF will need money in the transfer window and hopefully the club will back him with the money he needs. Quote

As it happens in only a fraction of cases, and if it was so easy, every club would change their manager every 6 weeks. Bolton, Ipswich, Blackpool, Burnley, Palace, Blackburn all changed gaffers around tye same time. You may have noticed that not all 6 have gone on unbeaten runs. Quote

I'm in agreement there is little sign of improvement and that can be put down to the bounce effect of a new manager, I'm seriously underwhelmed with Freedman in fact I'm 70% sure he's the wrong man for the job. For some reason there are people who think that paying players to play elsewhere is good management. Quote
Breightmet Boy Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I feel sorry for DF, he's got his hands full here Quote
Astley White Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 DF has inherited a shit, apathetic team. I think he has done okay - too early to judge him as a manager, its not his team but what Coyle has left him. Today was a disgrace though and players should hang there heads in shame. Quote
Carlos Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 As I said earlier, Gartside is our Peter Risdale. Quote

Rembrandt Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Being as it's Christmas, as I pointed out earlier, it strikes me that the players must have decided it's panto time. Can't decide if they're the Ugly Sisters, Wishy Washy, Dorothy's Scarecrow & Tin-Man & Cowardly-Lion, or (given the wages they're on) maybe Captain Hook's pirates or Ali Baba's Forty Thieves. Still, it lightens the mood a bit. Quote
