Garrp Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 is he allowed to take just one of them off ? Hes allowed to do what he wants without being booed by a bunch of bellends. Quote
Moderators Zico Posted December 18, 2012 Moderators Posted December 18, 2012 boo-ing started before half time in the NSL one bloke, who sits in the corner either in the ES or NS was off as soon as a pass went backwards despite fact we were keeping hold of it when we did play it forward, and lose it, he'd be off again same distinctive boo on his own mostly we need a sniper Quote

Apparently a proffessional player should never miss the target. We had a few words (i had been drinking), Huddersfield then had the attack when they hit the bar 'I rest my case' he proclaimed. It was a strange conversation, I do not think it was right that we then had a vote of every stood near us who thought i was being a dick....0 and who thought he was............8 or 9. But i refer you to my earlier comment about drinking. Quote

Moderators Casino Posted December 18, 2012 Moderators Posted December 18, 2012 he is, but i think we've seen putting petrov on weakens us massively defensively i would have been more than shocked to see him take any one of the back 6 off Quote

Sumo Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Having read this thread I feel I should sadly make the following point - as a kid I went home & away, loved it, even when we were rubbish beyond belief. I now live down in Bournemouth, so dont get to many home games, but still about half a dozen away games a year. I hadn't been to a home game for at least 2 seasons (until the Ipswich game the other week) I wasn't sure why it was so long, no excuse I thought to myself on the way up. I deciede to take my 2 boys (age 8 & 6) it was their first game at the Reebok stadium. A proud moment, I'd hoped, and after taking them to a couple of Saints games, Bournemouth games & Bolton away once I'd hoped this day out may persuade them to follow the whites, like me, for the rest of their lives. I now understand fully why it's been 2 years since my last visit to the Reebok, the atmosphere was the worst I have ever experienced and when about 1000 people started booing after we'd 10 completed passes for the first time all day (due to us starting again at the back) I knew it was a lost cause. On the way back my eldest said "Dad, the atmosphere is miles better at Dean Court than at the Reebok and we can walk there from our house" I could only reply , you are right son , you are 100 % right. Sad times. Quote

But i refer you to my earlier comment about drinking. think once someone makes their mind up about a player/way of playing, that's it i.e. professional players should always hit the target, or, Mears is shit I point out the 2nd one because we all know he gets shit or doesn't have many fans, but something else that triggered the boos/angryness was when a cross came in and he headed it out for a corner when he really didn't have to, should've just let it go not his fault though he should've had a shout from bogdan or someone else to leave it but it was all his fault from the stand folk have preconceptions about us, and if we don't deliver straight away, they're on their case Quote

Since the departure of the Fat One and our steady demise, patience wears thinner and thinner with each new mangerial appointment. Quote
Site Supporter MickyD Posted December 18, 2012 Site Supporter Posted December 18, 2012 Is hitting the crossbar hitting the target? Yes, in fact, not just classed as on target, it's actually worth half a goal. Don't you remember Man City were winning 31/2 - 0 and Gary speed scored a consolation penalty near the end to make it a slightly more respectable 31/2- 1? Quote

Sad times. This is depressing. For years Bolton fans were known for their loyalty & the support they gave the team.....even when we were hopeless in the lower leagues, it was worth going to the match just to be with the Bolton fans. We now have a few hundred of our most disloyal & numb "supporters" making home games an unpleasant experience & killing support for the team. These are the same people who caused problems before. This is happening while Freedman is clearly turning the club around....when we do hit a bad patch, I fear we're heading for a return to the infighting & poisonous atmospheres we had at the end of Megson's reign. Gumbo Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I'm not sure if Tyrone did get a shout. It looked bloody awful and I went for a bovril after he did it. I certainly didn't boooooooo. On reflection of the whole game I think Tyrone Mears had his best game of the season. We all get annoyed at games but collective boooooing does not help anyone. The booers seem to get drowned out at away games. This should be done at home games too. Quote

Its a shame the twats are ruining it for everyone else and potential new Wanderers. Quote
Sumo Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 no offence taken mate , I know what you mean , I agree 100%. going back to the Prem will only make things worse. I'm actually enjoying the away games more now than I have for years anyway, its just sad that you lot can't enjoy the home games like I used to when I lived up there & we were still at Burnden. my new tactic is to just take my boys to away games as much as possible & hope that works. Thats nothing pal, some lad behind us, must of been 18 at most, at huddersfield was chanting to something along the lines of "bogdan, you should of been shot at birth" when he fumbled one. then proceeded to scream JUSSSSIIIIIIIIIII JUSSSSSIIII. I told him he was a twat. Quote
tomski Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 In a Sammy lee style positive, it is a minority and its good the majority see it how it should be of backing the team. I still think we have some excellent fans varying in different age groups and I still get a buzz come match day, home and away (admittedly it wares off at about 3.05pm at the Reebok but soon comes back) I don't think its a Bolton issue, more a football issue as you'll always want people that will want a return on investment in paying for their tickets etc. These gripes will be had on citeh forums all the way to barnet forums. What is good to know is I think a good number support the team and town no matter what. Quote
