DazBob Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Hmv now closed Gregory & Porritts closing next month Not surprised that Gregory & Porritts is closing. I've walked past there numerous times over the last couple of years on a Saturday and never seen anyone in. The furniture may be well made but it all looks like the sort of stuff only old folk would have in their houses. I doubt any of the sofas have iPod docks and speakers built into them. It's also a shit location, way off the beaten track. Quote
Whites man Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I doubt any of the sofas have iPod docks and speakers built into them. You are probably right but then it was never a shop for chavs. Quote

Carlos Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Well, went into town yesterday for the first time in ages. Parked in near the Anchor and walked up Church Bank. Only a handful of cars parked there despite it being hols. Churchgate is basically shut, the BEN building, Churchgate House, the tax building etc. The only other person on the street was the yellow peril, Traffic Enforcement Warden or whatever they are called. There is no fucking traffic... Had a walk round the Market Hall, coming down the escalator, looking at the roof, you can feel the history in the building. Everyone involved in that current abortion should be charged with cultural vandalism. That means you Clifford. Notice in the window of HMV saying the nearest one is Bury. Sad that Bury is so far ahead of Bolton. Bought a Lancashire Pastie from Greenhalgh's, served by some Polish bird, and went home. Quote
tomski Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I don't know if anyone else saw them but last year the billboards were advertising to go shop at the rock across town. Bloody incredible. Quote

MickyD Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 More and more of Clifford Morris's big-name retailers closing their doors in the market place. Something is seriously flawed with the council for allowing this to carry on unchecked. Quote
no balls Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I'm sure we've said before but there in nothing in Bolton town centre that will mean you need to go there, so why bother? Quote
MickyD Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 You're right S. I walk around looking at boarded up shops, pound shops, betting shops, food shops and charity shops and there, Bolton shopping experience done. Quote

Luckily enough the tattoo parlour & porn shop are just across the road from the station so I don't have to walk into town proper. Quote
Carlos Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Nice to see Oringals, Norton Barrie and Duffer plus the orher one grouped together, they do some decent stuff. I spent £2 in Wilkos also. As I didn't need a pay day loan there wasn't much else there for me. Quote

Carlos Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Plus you still can't walk onto Victoria Sq without some cunt meethering you. That doesn't happen at the TC. Quote
