I think he said 20 odd closed. I went in sunday and also couldnt believe how many closed!

 

Well according to the Bolton News, another 2 are closing.

Apologies if this has been covered in the thread earlier but whoever 'designed' the new road layout / traffic easing system outside the post office wants shooting! From one lane down to 2 with the 2nd lane used for turn offs for streets no one goes down. Which ultimately makes it impossible to get out of the car park behind McDonald's as its all backed up. You then have to queue ten minutes as opposed to 1 minute previously. Absolute farce.

Possibly the same m0ng that did Manchester Road, as the lane that goes off to Trinity Street begins at Orlando Bridge and at least 50% of people, including the buses, use it to go straight on. Fucked.

Eventually, that part of manny road is going to see someone get stabbed. That whole junction looks like it was drawn in crayon by a blind spastic.

There's going to be elevated 'airport style' travelators to that new multistorey behind Deane Road. There will be an escalator 'stop' for the new Bolton College and University. There's a similar one planned to provide quick access to The Town Hall too. There's going to be hot oil and pitch vending machines the length of the facility - £1 a cup, to tip on the riff-raff scurrying around beneath.

 

It's part of an ambitious scheme to raise the whole town centre 12 metres above it's present level, expected to be finished by 2016.
