Mick,i'm so sorry to hear the news re your dad pal.

 

Your dad was the nicest man i've ever had the pleasure to meet.

He was so kind ,generous and had time for everybody,making everybody very welcome in his company.

 

It was always great seeing your dad in town on St George's Day with his mates.

 

So many memories from the Stag's Head and football in general especially Daubhill Athletic which he ran superbly.

 

Not one person I've met has ever had to say a bad word about your dad,he was universally popular and rightly so.

 

Many tears have been shed today,and I'm raising a glass in your dad's honour

MG i dont think i know you,but i knew your Dad we often spoke in the street around and about Morris Green especially near the Spar,he was a great lad and always had time for anyone my condolences to you and the rest of your family.

All these lovely tributes to your Dad MG he sounds like he was tip top bloke. Life is a shitter sometimes, rip MG Senior

Condolences MG, I don't really know you but spent my first 30 years in Morris Green and Daubhill, had some cracking banter with Jack in the Charcoal Pit after last orders. Always came across as a really genuine and nice bloke. I'm sure you're proud of him.

It's an awful time Mick, folk on here helped me out a lot when my dad passed away in January, but I know your family and friends will all rally round. I was just glad to go round to see your mam and dad and have a laugh with them and Jack showing me all the old photos at Bolton, he was a belting mate at work and a proper gent, he will never be forgotten.

Sorry to hear about your loss mick. I remember you telling me some stories when we worked together sounded like a true gent and brought you all up the right way rip.

Mick - been thinking of the good laughs I had with your dad especially when I was a teenager.

 

He was the first person in the Stag to buy me a pint on my 18th birthday,later that year going on the coach to Wembley for the Bristol City game with your dad and his mates ''The A team''

We drank in Willesden before the game. Joe Joint RIP,had nicked the drum from the Sally Army when it was on Bella St. Your dad starting banging the drum in the pub and got everybody singing along to Rawhide then Running Bear followed by many more golden oldies.

Everyone was shit faced by the time we reached Wembley. Fantastic day as a kid courtesy of your dad and his gang.

I'll never forget your dad being so kind and hospitable to everyone in the area,always going round the Stag with the football cards,raising money for so many good causes.

He was also one of the first visitors at the hospital when Abbie was born,she always remembers Jack for that

 

Absolute first class bloke,always smiling and lived life to the full. Daubhill's finest without a doubt
