Albert Anchovy Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 He is a red I know him. I used to drink in his local a few years ago. Not that it makes much odds he's a good bloke. You are right he is a good lad, we could do a lot worse than appoint a local lad. I have chatted to freedman and I have to say my 4yr old lad has more presence than him. He is not the right man for BWFC and the sooner people realise this the better. Quote
Albert Anchovy Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Well his Sister seems to believe that he is, which is odd. I can't think of any reason why she would make it up. But seen as you and Keith go back such a long way, I'll ask her again this week. Are you claiming he's a Bolton fan? He never followed Bolton, he was to busy playing football to watch anyone. Quote
kent_white Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 He never followed Bolton, he was to busy playing football to watch anyone. So he is an ex pro footballer who later became a Manager but has never supported a football club, even in his youth? Is that what you're claiming? Quote
HomerJay Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Aye I know but some clueless fecker like Cassie or Homo would agree with it And I'm too grumpy and hungover not to bite If give the fucking tea lady the job if it meant a few clean sheets. Quote
oggybwfc Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 He would only rant at the next manager. Him and diddles are born from the same cloth. Who would be most offended by that remark? Quote
COYW Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 He's not the man for the job but he'll keep us up. However if he plays 451 against Cardiff with the shit high earners then get rid as he's clearly not learning. How many more examples of him 'clearly not learning' do you need? Don't bet on him keeping us up either. Quote
Juan.Kerr Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I hoped he was the man, but we're too inconsistent. We can't even bother to be shite every week, sometimes it's not been bad, but too rarely and too many false dawns . I think he will keep us up, but I can't see him rebuilding for next season. It's easy to say now, but like appointing Lee, Megson and Coyle we as always, did it on the cheap. Problem is, if he keeps us up, is that job done and we get another season, or is it a failure and we look again ? Quote
HomerJay Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Didn't we pay for coyle and freedman? I wouldn't say that was on the cheap. Quote
Seabiscuit Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 We overpaid for Freedman. 500k pa for a bloke who'd had one full season in management and finished 17th in Div 2 is a lottery win salary for Dougie. You can put Freedman down as one as the overpaid underachievers on the payroll. Its amazing that we appointed a worse manager than Coyle but the results speak for themselves, he gets worse results than Coyle. Quote
GeorgeOghani'sIroningBoard Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Hill did OK at Spotland then moved to Barnsley where he was an unqualified disaster. A bit like Freedman at Palace then Bolton. Fuck him off asap. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I'm still fuming and wouldn't shed any tears if he did get potted. That said, keep changing managers isn't the way forward either. Quote
Ratwhite Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 So in summary, KH is a none red none white, good lad Boltonian. Still not right man for BWFC whether DF is or not. This has got be be the lowest point in the last twelve or so years. Not quite as bad as losing to Aldreshot in the relegation play-offs, but this morning I feel violated. Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Stay, unless we can get Steve Clarke, then he can go. Quote
Juan.Kerr Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Didn't we pay for coyle and freedman? I wouldn't say that was on the cheap. No, sorry, what I meant was that they were the 'easy' option, rather than a more controversial manager such as Mick, or OGS, or any of the others in the frame. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Keith Hill not the answer he has no success at this level and absolutely no experience of managing a club as big as BWFC I think I would pack it in if he became manager. Quote
jagermoot Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 No one half decent will want to take over and the decline will continue. realistically, who would take over with the shit team we have? Players aren't interested for whatever reasons, a new gaffer ain't gonna change that Quote
Zico Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 No, sorry, what I meant was that they were the 'easy' option, rather than a more controversial manager such as Mick, or OGS, or any of the others in the frame. OGS turned us down and was our #1 target After that they looked for a similar manager who fit the same criteria in bring young and showing promise Ultimately the wrong choice but hardly the easiest to prise him away from palace Mccarthy would've been the easier choice Quote
COYW Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Ultimately the wrong choice but hardly the easiest to prise him away from palace I'm not sure it was that difficult to be honest. He only had 7 months left on his contract and they weren't exactly falling over themselves to offer him a new one. According to the Palace supporters, their chairman had expressed concerns about the style of play the previous season when they had struggled. He cut loose the season after when they won six on the trot after having lost the first three. Quote
mickbrown Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 It was a poor appointment and it's biting us on the arse right now. Quote

Im sure we had to pay compensation though, and given Mccarthy was out of work, we didn't go with the easy option, we took a gamble that right now looks like a bit of a fuck up.. Quote

Guest Blixa Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Looks like a bit of a fuck up is the understatement of the day. Was McCarthy willing to manage us? How would he have done with our team, as opposed to Ipswich? Just a load of if, buts and guesswork. Quote

Sweep Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I've known Keith sin his teens and he's no fucking red. He is a red I know him. I. Does it really make any difference if he is or not? Quote
