gonzo Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 We could end up with an Asian mob. Muslim Cuckoo Boyz (suicide squad is already copyrighted) They could do their Kabbadi moves on Scott's car park. Quote
DazBob Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 They'd all be singing "I'd rather be a whitey than a red". Quote

Farrelli Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Turgid football Incessant cold at the Reebok Shit coffee Abysmal results Hmm, yes please, I'm in Add a supermarket behind the goal and you have just described the 1980's at Burnden. However, we are constantly being told how great it was by people on here. Quote
kent_white Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 perhaps we could give them lower ticket prices of a "bring an Asian" scheme whereby a whitey pays full price but he can bring an Asian for £5 - I'm off to ring PG with my idea before any of your fuckers nick it and claim it as your own We could call in the 'Asian Persuasion' scheme? no balls Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 We could call in the 'Asian Persuasion' scheme? what, like grooming them, innit? Quote
burnden Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Like the Punjabi wolves fans ? They are 1500 strong and there week in week out home and away . Quote
oggybwfc Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Like the Punjabi wolves fans ? They are 1500 strong and there week in week out home and away . Exactly, Like it or not we are a multiracial town and I would welcome 1500 passionate fans, as opposed to the miserable bastards who sit behind me. Quote

I would too. Just not sure how you'd reach out to a certain demographic without alienating the others. Quote

oggybwfc Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 but if they're merrily going round Bolton wearing Man U tops as you say, do you honestly think you could make them passionate Bolton fans? Education, and peer pressure get some in and hopefully more will follow. I know it's not exactly the same but, my lad stopped coming with me to go with his own "Gang" at the start of the season there was 4 of them, now they are up to a "Mob" of 12 Quote
DazBob Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 but if they're merrily going round Bolton wearing Man U tops as you say, do you honestly think you could make them passionate Bolton fans? Maybe they've seen how one of their/our own is treated ... unless of course their dad's don't dye their hair then they'll be welcomed with open arms. Quote
Casino Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) i think plenty young 'foreigners' wouldn't touch bolton with a bargepole if their dads came in the 80s, they'd hardly give us a thumbs up, would they so, aye, find a way to show them its all nice n multicultural Edited February 10, 2014 by Casino Quote
no balls Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 See, I'm going to be all unPC now and say why? Does everything have to be multicultural? Quote
Guest Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 See, I'm going to be all unPC now and say why? Does everything have to be multicultural? Not in football. Just give us decent football or results or a little something to make the afternoon and spend worthwhile. Quote
Casino Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 for multicultural read 'no fcuker being afraid of going for fear of getting his/her head kicked in cos he's a xxxxx' insert whatever word you like Quote
DazBob Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 (edited) I forget who's testimonial it was, maybe Jussi's? but Amir Khan played and was booed every time he touched the ball. Granted, it was by a minority, but still, it was cleary audible. If I was 'one of his lot' I'd not be in a rush to come back. Edit: Oh, and he was shit, so not worth a punt. But it is another thread as it should be a two way street in all aspects and areas of life. Quote

Casino Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 we can either do it 'as it should be' or we can try to find a way to attract even more new folk i think we've done quite well attracting youngsters but the number of non whites is still (i guess) much lower than the percentage of non white kids in the town interested in football Quote
tomski Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Always difficult this I find it amazing how many fans we have 'lost' ie I'll have a free ticket for them and I still cant get them to go. Not knocking them, if they don't want to go its personal choice and all that. But is it usual for clubs to lose fans not due to finance. I think the youth pricing structure has been excellent and I think it is reflecting well in aways. Lots of young lads together. I cant see an issue with trying to tap into the wider community to get bums on seats. Not sure how the club would go about it though? I have always been impressed by the support we get from the surrounding areas like manc, Leigh, athy etc. Is there a way to go about more aggressive ticketing in these postcodes to stop them paying 2 shillings to watch Wigan etc?
