You are innocent until proven guilty, it’s up to the prosecution to do just that, which the judge didn’t think they did, she’s  the one that sat through the whole trial not just the bits and pieces the media fed people. For what he’s worth I think he’s as guilty as hell, but again that way we have trials to “prove” you are guilty 100% not 95 or 96% but 100 % and in the judges view that was not the case and she has gone for a lesser charge

if you are under house arrest could you buy a massive house with a huge garden etc and still use it or are you literally in the house only. 

Is it just me? Sick to fucking death of hearing about this. Talk about a long drawn out process. I lost interest in early March and have been fast forwarding the news at this story every fucking day ever since.

10 months in jail for blowing an innocent persons head off. Unbelievable. Wonder what he'd have got if he'd been a poor black man.

There is a contract out on him already apparently. Though as he is diasbled he'll be in a medical wing or something. But even then apparently he isn't totally safe.

I know what you mean but the sentence is 5 years. It just happens that there is the section in law that allows a portion of that to be served under house arrest. 5 years is actually relatively normal for a culpable homocide.

 

A bloke in SA thought someone was stealing his car and shot out of his bedroom window at them. Only it wasn't a criminal it was his daughter that he killed. He was convicted but walked free.

 

Not saying the crimes are the same but it isn't a totally light sentence in terms of what he was found guilty of.

The judge was black. seems unlikely she would be more leniant to a white person
