Leyther_Matt Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Alice's being shut basically rules out any chance of me having beers in Bolton on a Saturday night after a game, it was the only thing going in it's favour! Quote
bolton_blondie Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Alice's chippy is the one thing that persuaded me to have a night in town. Not a cat in hells chance I'm going in again now. Quote
Casino Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 i honestly didnt realise there was a late night chippy in town thought it was just supper bar and the one opposite so when they went so did my late night chips Quote

Going to go to the food festival. is it enough to blot out the rest of the steaming heap of shit that is the rest of the town centre? I think it's excellent and has earned rave reviews. One of the few things the council gets praised for, so it must be doing something right. Quote
Casino Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 i fear theyll have improved it for this year Quote
frank_spencer Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 i fear theyll have improved it for this year It's got bigger each year. It started off as a few stalls on the town hall square. Pretty much every pedestrianised street in the town centre was full of stalls last year. The bar on the square always got a visit on the friday when i worked at BMBC Quote
little whitt Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 i honestly didnt realise there was a late night chippy in town thought it was just supper bar and the one opposite so when they went so did my late night chips this and i always order a indian before a taxi Quote

DazBob Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Just driven through town and noticed the skate park next to Morrisons is being demolished. Bit of a shame that - anyone know why? Getting rid of that will surely just mean the miserable looking little cunts will be running pensioners over even more regularly on the town hall square, Quote
Carlos Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 They are building a new skate park. It is a fucking outrage that the little (and not so little) cunts vandalise our town centre, and need bribing to fuck off elsewhere. Quote
DazBob Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Ah, furry muff. In other news, just a minute later I drove down Bank Street and the two shit-hole clubs on there have both been taped off. Three police cars parked outside and a few pigs stood there looking concerned. Wonder if there's been a murrdurr. Quote

Youri McAnespie Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) I was forced to venture in t'other day, the arches of Le Mans Crescent are being used as an ad-hoc pissoir these days it seems. That's a fine 'Welcome to Bolton' for anyone parking behind Le Mans or arriving by bus or taxi... "Octagon Theatre? Turn right after the piss stench, have a nice evening" Would it really be too much bother for someone working around there to fill a bucket of warm water and detergent and swill it down of a morning, it's probably not within the job description of anyone though, including cleaners, or they're worried someone might slip on the water - and find blame and a claim. Don't suppose the shisha bar owners next door knew owt about it.. Anyway, the sooner the bulldozers pitch up on Bank St the better, it's a fucking eyesore. Quote

Anyway, the sooner the bulldozers pitch up on Bank St the better, it's a fucking eyesore. That is a truly grim part of town. Is Bank Street Taxis still going? - I remember the fat bird who used to allocate the taxis on a Friday night once threatened to chin my mate for saying "When can I have a taxi fatty" - anyway, I think we ended up having to walk to another taxi rank before we got battered by the 20st behemoth Quote
