tyldesley_white Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 No it isn't. Who we have when the season starts is the important thing. Is the correct answer Quote
COYW Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 A lot of deals aren't going to get done until just before the transfer window closes, which is well after the season starts, not to mention the loans window for Championship clubs, which doesn't close until November. Quote

gonzo Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Yes That's Dougies fault too Might not be Dougies fault but its bad practice. Douglas or the club can't afford another catastrophic start again. Quote
DazBob Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 These "better" strikers Freedman signed have just posted our worst league position in 20 years. We won 6 home games out of 23 in the 2nd Division with them. Fenny at Yeovil? Quote
Casino Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Might not be Dougies fault but its bad practice. Douglas or the club can't afford another catastrophic start again. so, we buy some stop gap who is better than what we have got then 6 weeks later berahino (for example) is on offer for the season but we've spunked our load i'm not sure which is the right way to go about it and luckily for me and you, we'll have hindsight to judge Quote
Zico Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 so, we buy some stop gap who is better than what we have got then 6 weeks later berahino (for example) is on offer for the season but we've spunked our load i'm not sure which is the right way to go about it and luckily for me and you, we'll have hindsight to judge as DF doesn't like loans the first scenario is probably the one to aim towards, if he has a plan in place the latter works and worked well for Coyle, make of that what you will Quote
Guest Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 The only way we can buy anyone is if Eddie Davies hands another loan out. Under those circumstances the club probably have bigger issues to sort out than who is in the squad for early August! Quote
gonzo Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 The only hindsight required is from last season, where the pick up random loan signings throughout the season to sort out the mess method failed dramatically. If that's the hand we are forced to play with, then fair enough. Just hope we can start the season with a settled team. I'm sure Douglas does too. Quote
Garrp Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Boro signed Kike for 3.3 million. lets hope things get moving Quote
Sweep Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Jordan Rhodes signs two year extension Does this mean we definantly not getting him for £8 million then?? I wonder why no club in the PL has taken a chance on him Quote
Casino Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 i don't like lots of things but you make the best of it... coyle used loans...a couple of good uns and loads of shit uns so aye, its a toss up Quote
Casino Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 The only hindsight required is from last season, where the pick up random loan signings throughout the season to sort out the mess method failed dramatically. you keep ignoring facts, young man it did not fail the failure was in the first dozen games, before he started picking up the 'randomers' Quote
tomski Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) I think boro have stirred this Burnley interest up? Very little coming out of Burnley on it. Think its fairly clear Juke has his heart set on playing for the super whites. I applaud the club for thinking about deals rather than paying whoever however much. I'm sure we will lose out occasionally but think this is the way forward. Edited July 11, 2014 by tomski Quote
Traf Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Boro signed Kike for 3.3 million. lets hope things get moving I think the politically correct term is Jewish person. Quote

Zico Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 you keep ignoring facts, young man it did not fail the failure was in the first dozen games, before he started picking up the 'randomers' let's clear this up, as we weren't all well and good once we'd beat brum and certainly weren't play off form most of the season first 10 games = 0.5 points per game we won our first game at brum away, if you include the 2 draws before, we were unbeaten in 8 good form of that's there's no doubt but from Boro away at end of Nov through to Millwall at home 15th Feb we played 15, won 2, lost 8 and drew 5 - which also incorporates the Reading 7-1 defeat that run saw us get 0.73 points per game before and after that run we did well, but over half of the season we had shocking relegation form in summary: it wasn't just the first 10 games where we were absolute bobbins one thing is for sure, things looked better with juketwicz in the team but can't be arsed doing the sums Quote
Casino Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 you dont need to just look at the fcuking table i'll pick an isoolated run of games to show we were better than leicester if you like fact is, from randomers coming in (gonzo introduced that) our ppg was just shy of play off form Quote
Zico Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 15 games, in a row, is nearly a 1/3 of the season, hardly isolated take away the first 10 games, the PPG gets us 65 and we finish 11th which season as you using as 65 points being "just shy" of the play offs? Quote
mourinho Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Posted this before but this is the table had it started from when the loans started to come in away at Blackpool We've got a left back now, get Juke back and we won't be far away So still nowhere near the playoffs Quote
