tylswhite Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Interesting that the BEN quoting Freedman as saying we have to sell before we get more attacking players in. Goalposts shifted again. In simple terms we aren't buying anybody. Stuck with this shit all season. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Ffs, DF confirmed this last year in twitter q&a Unlikely to be a free gift - still have to pay towards it I'd guess. Quote
Casino Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Unlikely to be a free gift - still have to pay towards it I'd guess. well aye, i often wondered how this would work aye, you can have etoo but you're paying his wages anyway, latest interview i read with freedman says he's heard there is a deal but theres no evidence that it actually exists either way, it sounds like its so vague its worth fook all Quote
Horwich Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Ive got a screengrab of me asking the question that dougie answered If anyone wants to find the bwfc tweet, it was on 10/07/13 that DF confirmed we have the option of a chelsea player Quote
scallywell Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Ffs, DF confirmed this last year in twitter q&awhere is it then horwich? I know he said it, so we are just waiting a little longer, how long has Cahill been there now? Quote
Horwich Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I aint got the time to go back through all bwfcs tweets... Anyone got a way of finding it?? It was posted on 10/07/13 Quote

Casino Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 for example David Vaughan and Nathaniel Chalobah are on loan at the City Ground from Sunderland and Chelsea respectively and Freedman says Bolton made enquiries to take both on loan. While Forest, who Bolton play on Saturday, could match the wages, Freedman says that the demands of the players were too high for The Trotters “The boy Vaughan and Chalobah are very, very good loans,” Freedman said at his Friday press conference. so, lets say we have this deal just how does it work, do you reckon Quote
Horwich Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I dunno how it works. I was just trying to say that DF confirmed that we have the option of getting a chelsea player on loan. We haven't used that option. You then get people coming on here saying it never existed. I am just trying to show them that DF said it did. I aint arsed to be honest, unless we have the option of 11 chelsea players on loan Quote
Casino Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 haha fair enough i actually am interested how it would work, cos it makes no sense http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/11050428.Chelsea_starlet_Nathan_Ake_is_not_OK_for_Bolton_Wanderers/ Quote
jules_darby Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Of course it makes no sense #GartsideDeal Quote
Horwich Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Its probably not worth anything at all. Chelsea are only gonna let a player leave if its right for that player. Quote

tylswhite Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Chelsea loan deal or no Chelsea loan deal I couldn't really give a fuck. I think this area is more down to the people above Dougie. Im sure/certain he has asked for plenty of players that would improve us but there doesn't seem to be much help coming his way in that respect. Dougie is probably as desperate for new players as we are, cant blame him on the transfer front imo. The club need to either back him or fucking sack him. Quote
Casino Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 reet, im a fan but i still don't get this 'back him' lark how do we back him if the rules don't let us Quote
Horwich Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Manage the club properly? We have had around £50m in parachute money in the last 3 seasons and now we haven't got a pot to piss in. Many other clubs in the league would have loved that. The club is managed badly from top to bottom Quote

only1swanny Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 The loan deal would be pointless anyway. Dervite.. People raving about him .different player for us. Had Oldham fans telling me that Craig Davies is great.. Nothing Spearing is a shell of his former self Medo as above same for pratley wheaten.. Beckford has a track record of scoring and we've killed him Andrews is an Irish international and we can't get a game. Cyl was immense and he's struggling like feck Even Danny and fernery who made huge impacts are struggling Every player we have isn't performing under freedman so any loaner would go back worse for it. Both the Juke and Mason in second spell counter that argument. The difference? Both were playing in a system and position that suited them. That's not the case with many of the above. Worryingly, preseason is when you sort out stuff like that, but that has not happened. Saying that, I still think a target man and a fit Mark Davies will paper over some of the cracks. He isn't going to be sacked anytime soon, so that's the best we can hope for. I think deadline day might get interesting if some bids come in. It'll make of break us. Quote
ex_midlandwhite Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Manage the club properly? We have had around £50m in parachute money in the last 3 seasons and now we haven't got a pot to piss in. Many other clubs in the league would have loved that. The club is managed badly from top to bottom Many other clubs in this league have had that and are still in this league. Three clubs now have much bigger parachutes. Those other clubs have also changed the manager plenty of times and are still in this league. If you aren't the 1 in 5/6 (guess - it isnt many) that goes straight back up then recent history suggests it can take years, parachutes or no parachutes Quote
superwhitesub Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Premiership bounceback article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/championship/10826050/How-often-do-relegated-Premier-League-clubs-bounce-straight-back-from-the-Championship.html Quote
ex_midlandwhite Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 So in essence the parachutes are spent on restructuring the wage bill. You can have wage drops in contracts to a degree but the players have the power so they aren't what they should be. Seems Rovers have same trouble. Which is what Gartside said about Prem 2, the financial security to actually challenge and not be wary about a 75% fall in turnover Quote
