If Spearing went to Villa we would be deeper in the shit. Captain and only midfielder who gets stuck in and isn't injured every other week. He is one player who undoubtedly would improve with a manager who used him properly. Plus we are hardly likely to spend any transfer fee on the team. Would seriously start to be disillusioned if this is true, hopefully just bullshit

Sell Spearing, get a striker or two in. Makes sense on the face of it if the money of good - except the massive great hole in centre midfield.

I don't think the strikers are too bad, Craig Davies, mason & Beckford should be able to do the business. I would like one more don't get me wrong!!

 

We just need a midfield that can win the ball, retain possession and create lots of chances (easy said I know)

 

Thing is we have plenty of midfielders, on paper they are good enough to do that job - especially against the poorer sides in the division

 

I can only put it down to bad team spirit / culture within the squad

We have spent to much time waiting around for Holden and Davies to recover from their latest injuries and not been bold enough to say its time to cut loose. Now thats happening we don't have a plan to replace them either financial of management.

 

This has been going on for last 4 yrs so can't be totally put on Super Dougies toes, but he has to share the blame at not dealing with the problem sooner.

 

I can't believe for one second that there aren't half decent midfielders out there who are not getting games who would love to come to a club like ours, but I'm sure the same excuses of cash and timing will be used to justify lack of effort in securing them.

I still feel that whilst we have a couple of spanners, we do have the players to do well.

 

The lack of any cohesive formation or any evidence of training ground nous is crippling the side. I really don't blame the players.

 

We have a stubborn fantasist as manager.

 

Is rather no one else come in now, it would be yet another employee being told they aren't good enough. And another player coming in who would have his confidence drained.

Spearing to QPR I can't see. They've just paid 7 million for Leroy Fer and have plenty of other midfielders. Spearing to villa sounds more promising.

 

If we need to let spearing go to get bodies in then we should do it because we have plenty of midfielders who can be equally as shit as spearing had been.

That's the most worrying aspect of all. It's all well and good saying 'We just need to take our chances' but that's the same with every team. If you only create 1 per game, then you need someone world class on the end of it.

 

Especially when you can't keep a clean sheet.

Even Bury was a penalty, an own goal and a free kick. How anyone can say we have the strikers is beyond me. Mason is decent but not our player and Craig Davies is ok as back up but not first choice starter week in week out. The less said about Beckford the better. Desperately need two more options in before window shuts

Spearing has been shite this season we've never really needed him and medo think freedman signed medo never expecting to get spearing back but Eddie paid for him if it means we can strengthen elsewhere it needs to be done but selling our skipper after 4 games doesn't reflect great at all - in other news apparently eagles is being looked at by ........... Injury? Was Saturday owt to do with this back problem? If so could affect his availability this season and thought of Lonergan being No 1 isn't re assuring.

No issue with losing spearing. Infact the only midfielders I would be sorry to lose are Holden and Mark Davies and they don't play

 

I've currently no affiliation with any of this squad and never felt so fucked off with it all. A bit severe I know, but they can all get to fuck starting with our captain.
