The new bus lane on the East Lancs becomes operational from today.

Off work today because of the weather but I predict carnage.

Those turning right towards Monton knock out lane 3, the bus lane takes up lane 1, so the Lancs will be down to a single lane at that junction.

Well, was it carnage?

Don't know yet, I'm still working from home, so to speak.

Traffic seems to have been slightly better this week actually. By slightly I mean 1hr 10 mins Bromley cross - Warrington rather than 1 hr 20 mins+ in a morning. Tonight was a breeze coming home at 4.30, about 50 mins.

Drove to work this morning. 6.20 leaving h town expecting to get to the office just after 7. Got to Red bank car park at 7.20.

I'll be staying on the train if that's the craic with th'east lancs now.

45 mins either way through Clifton. Fuck the Lancs.

Was on the Lancs today, from the office at the Astley junction to Motorworld junction/ Swinton, 25 mins I was on it and not one bus was in the bus lane or anyone at any of the stops. Would expect an operational bus lane to have a few buses go past in that time heading city bound ,but, not a one.

The guided bit in Tyldesley / Leigh isn't finished so not sure what's supposed to be going down it yet, but loads of queuing traffic and an empty bus lane today.

60 was blocked both ways tonight, so took the trafford centre way on

only an hour so a relative result

had the traffic news on and apparently the anti clockwise side was blocked

what makes it the anti clockwise side

Not sure if serious?

Has no one tried Google maps navigation? It knows from other uses where is busy and works out the quickest route. I find it more accurate than other sat navs.

It even took me off the M65 for one junction to avoid an accident!

i know i should say im joking but no, im not

you can go anti clockwise on both sides

No, think of a clock looking down from above with Manchester where the hands join. J17  is Most north at 12 o'clock. you can go towards Oldham and Ashton, clockwise to 3 O'clock and on to stockport at 6 and that is clockwise. going via the trafford centre to stockport is Anti clockwise

Google maps is the best out there. The live traffic info is nailed on.

I use it when Ive not a clue where I'm going. It's brilliant, the man lets me play my music and just speaks over it when he needs to.

they said the anti clockwise SIDE

anyway, best part of 2 hours this morning

and thats using the 'quiet bit' of the 60

If they say that between juctions 12 - 8 or 23-18 it makes sense, if they didn't, or you weren't listening, then it doesn't.

by quiet bit do you mean stockport?

for me, that's the worst bit

junction 2 is possible the worst planned junction i've ever seen, and i've seen some

dunno what was going down last night, but took 90 mins to get hom instead of 40 as it was gridlocked all the way round that bottom right hand corner
