The new bus lane on the East Lancs becomes operational from today. 

 

Off work today because of the weather but I predict carnage.

 

Those turning right towards Monton knock out lane 3, the bus lane takes up lane 1, so the Lancs will be down to a single lane at that junction.

 

 

Well, I assumed that the Misguided Busway had become operational, but no, it is (as you say) only the Bus Lane.

 

As there are very few buss, I requested that the Bus Lane is disabled for the time being and this request has been asked of Salford Council who are considering it. They have to balance being nice with people with trying to change behaviours.

Heard on the radio that it had been used by 40 buses. Wow!

The Park n Ride Car park at the bottom of the M61. You know, the one there's never anybody parked in.

Drove past it at 5:15.

 

Two things struck me, as I was crawling along at 5mph, how few cars there were parked up, do all the car/bus wankers people have early darts, and how the hell do you get to it?

And presumably it has to get into manc the same way as everyone else all be it in a slightly faster bus lane

It also means you are parked on the wrong side of the East Lancs for your journey home.

Wife came home from Preston. M65 was solid with loads coming off to take A road to city. Nightmare.

Seems as good a place as any, this driver a tad pissed off, police are appealing for information, funny as if you go a few mph over they can find you, but re arrange someone's wagon and they need to ask...
