frank_spencer
If Bury Grammar is off, its a piece of piss getting through the town at school run times. All the other schools could be in but every kid must get dropped off by car at that place.

Moderators Zico Posted January 4, 2017 Moderators Share Posted January 4, 2017 School runs and school holidays combined So basically: schools being open or not I'm certain that the traffic I endure of an evening has got cock all to do with schools as they close 3 hours earlier yet this week it's been a breeze

Northender
Drove past the fire at 7am heading south. Wagons front wheel was on fire on hard shoulder. Cars driving past it in next lane, wouldn't be good if fuel tank had gone then.
Site Supporter MickyD Posted January 10, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted January 10, 2017 Drove past the fire at 7am heading south. Wagons front wheel was on fire on hard shoulder. Cars driving past it in next lane, wouldn't be good if fuel tank had gone then. Once, when taking wife (then girlfriend) home, there was a car on fire at junction of Chorley New Road and Beaumont Road. Blazing like hell, and there was a bloke stopping folk going past "in case it blew!" I informed him that these things rarely happened other than in American films. Just then, one of the tyres exploded with hell of a bang. The bloke, while picking himself up, looked at me and said, "You were saying?" But seriously, the chance of the furl tank blowing are slim. The chances of a tyre blowing are massive and could kill if you got too close.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 10, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted January 10, 2017 Mick- what's the chances of a piece of exploded tyre penetrating a fuel tank? Just curious.

There's a few folk off a Concorde can tell you the answer to that. Well, they can't, but you catch my drift.

It won't ever change. Ever.

bgoefc
Crawling to Leeds Looking like 3 hours at this rate That last 6 miles into the centre is a killer. Train is usually the sensible option. Drive to Blackburn, 1hr,27 mins to Leeds, £16.30 return.

Moderators Carlos Posted January 17, 2017 Moderators Share Posted January 17, 2017 It means that it's hard to get to the Octagon car park from half of the town, I imagine it'll put more onto Trinity Street, which can already be fucked. Site Supporter MickyD Posted January 17, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted January 17, 2017 Mick- what's the chances of a piece of exploded tyre penetrating a fuel tank? Just curious. Very low. The steel within the tyre keeps everything pretty much intact. The explosion is usually the heated air within the tyre expanding sufficiently to explosively pop it off the rim, not shredding the tyre into lots of small bits.
