  • If I thought he could get us back on track and challenging in this league again, I'd have Bin fucking Laden.   Getting precious about some fucking small time sectarian bullshit is a luxury we cannot

  • It's only seen as divisive by people who want to see it that way. What the fuck has he done wrong? Apart from stand up to the most vicious sectarian campaign of intimidation by people 'loyal' to somet

I think considering the position we seem to be in we are lucky to be being pitched with the candidates we are. It's always going to be a lottery but at least we seem to be being seriously linked with a respectable level of manager.

Is pele still available?

Neil is 4/1 2nd fav now

Do the right thing for once garty

Nixon says all have been met, yet Iles says none of them have been interviewed yet.... I reckon it's Lennon or Hughton

I'm amazed at the standard of candidates. It's the most intriguing list of managers I've ever known us to be linked with in my lifetime, and this despite the fact that we're lower than I've ever seen us before in the footballing ladder.

Would be happy with Hughton, Lennon, Clarke, Mowbray or Mackay; all of which have impressive managerial achievements on their CV. I'm pleasantly surprised that even though we're skint, have waning attendances and look like we're sliding down the leagues, we're still an attractive prospect judging by the calibre of supposed interviewees.

I was crying out for Hughton at first, who I saw as a long shot. Now very tempted by Lennon. Especially seeing as I had £12 on him last night @ 26/1

What baffles me is that we were left to choose between Megson and Souness in 2007, after four straight top 8 finishes, in the midst of a European campaign, and with a squad containing the likes of Jussi and Anelka. I don't think Megson did a bad job in most areas, but the current candidates seem so much more intriguing. Perhaps my lessoned expectations compared to back then have a part to play too.

Aye, for all those comparing this to the 80's fall from grace, we're definitely attracting a better candidate than the likes of Mulhall/Anderson/Wright.

I agree, but there's a bigger pool of British managers around nowadays with more foreigners and more sackings.

Suprised Phil Brown is so short priced as he's said he's not been approached the shortness of price would indicate he has been approached and if he has that is a massive change of heart from PG and if that's the case it wouldn't suprise me to see him in situ early next week.

As Traf has adviced me plenty of times, bookmakers may generally not know anything.

Odds on stuff like this simply follow betting trends as nobody knows fuck all. That's unless somebody itk is laying fortunes as they know something,in that case all other candidates would drift. But they aren't. So nobody knows fuck all.

At this stage in the process last time DF was well out 33/1.

And marc illes comments pointed to dougie being one of the candidates

He wont be far wrong again

CHAMPIONSHIP EXPERIENCE

Need someone like Rioch - an experienced manager with a point to prove after a recent sacking. Managers know 2 fails on the bounce will kill their career stone dead - they'll do everything to make a success of the gig.

Plenty to choose from fitting that description.

c'mon, wheres this one come from

how is it a change of heart?

I'm coming round to the idea of it being Lennon which Nixon seems to run with.

aye, itll be interesting if nowt else

and it'll give megsons millions the excuse they need not to return

but i dont think he'll get it cos too many will be on his back from the start

Another way of looking at it is this is probably our only shot of getting a manager with champ league experience. I think Lennon would be able to live with boo boys (if it happened, I'm not so sure) with his previous background

Id rather go to fulham if i was one of these managers

I think experience of the championship & working without money are more important than champions league or pub league experience.

We always do well when everybody hates us.

With Lennon we could be back in business.

Plus we could all have a massive Lennon Party.

Why do you think too many will be on his back from the start, Casino? He's third in the poll so far, with lots of positive comments on here for him. This idea that our fanbase has a problem with anything Celtic-related doesn't stack up for me...thankfully. I know it's not a massive sample size compared with our overall support but more than half the votes cast have gone for someone with a Celtic connection - Mowbray, Mackay or Lennon. Let's not forget either that two of the most popular players of the last generation - Walker and McGinlay - were/are big Celtic fans and that didn't seem to dent their popularity. That wouldn't happen if everyone was a closet Rangers fan. One or two don't seem to like his character (no balls), though even some in that camp think it could be just what we need. If he did get it, those with a pathological hatred of all things green would just have to get over themselves and enter the 21st century, Bolty.

I'm warming to Lennon

Hopefully his passion would get the fans going too, look at the atmosphere at park head!!!

We could adopt some of the catchy songs Celtic fans sing with such rigour

aye, would be ace hearing the ESL belting You'll Never Walk Alone out, hairs on the back of my neck are standing just thinking about it.

If Mowbray is interviewed, the first question should be "what did you think of Barry Knight's handling of the Bolton vs Ipswich play off game?"

Do grow up sonny. "Pathological hatred of all things green"?  For a start I am a huge fan of broccoli and spring cabbage. Just tell us who you really are.

I never had any problems with Super John or Andy Walker (loved doing the business we did with Walker - stitched them up nicely).  Two BWFC greats and nothing can change that.

Also, what is 'closet' about my Rangers leanings? Always been absolutely open about them and it will never change. The most loyal of the loyal.

When will you come out of your closet and tell us your previous identity on here which got canned?

Don't want Neil Lennon. End of. Definitely want a hard nut manager as I believe our players need inspiring not mollycoddling. They have had enough of the latter from the last two managers.

No problems with any of the names mentioned except one. Hoping it's Malky.
