To be fair I can see the sense in that one as the general idea of the multiple venues was to take events to such places that could host a game or two but not a whole tournament, and at least there would be plenty of time for fans to confirm travel arrangements. Club finals are by nature short-term affairs and so should be held somewhere with at least semi-reasonable transport links. Quote

True, that's why Cardiff was fuming that despite this idea, Wembley still ended up with a load of games, semis and final and it got ignored. Baku is not on my visit list for next summer anyway. Quote

Not entirely sure but having the champions league final there the other year might have been a "soz" from UEFA. Games in Munich and Rome too, it's a strange one.
