I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Salah, being Egyptian, has an obvious disadvantage at international level, unless of course his lot perform well in comps within Africa.

45 goals in 73 appearances since 2011.

Ronaldo 115 goals. Some way to go to top that!

They finished 2nd in The African cup of nations 2017. But either way there’s only one fella in the same league as Ronaldo and it ain’t or will ever be Mo Salah, as much as I rate him.

It was moved on police advice never on the schedule

If Cambridge beat Exeter tomorrow we lose another Saturday fixture (8th Jan), and gain a freezing Tuesday night game.

Come on you Grecians.

They don't spend that much though. How about they assemble a squad as expensive as Chelsea and see if they are still shit then? I bet they arent

Brighton, Wolves and Fulham are somewhat a surprise on that list.

Bet wolves spaffed half of that getting out the championship

Everton have spaffed a lot up the wall just to end up with a squad of shit.

Mind you they did win the league last season.

What a blessing in disguise we have no game today, that Stockport replay result turned out nice.

The shite awful wet windy weather and our available players having an extended rest are 2 good enough reasons 👌

Yeah, nice peaceful weekend

Correct. Its a net spend chart which isn't the same thing

Wolves, Brighton and Fulham obviously don't have the financial power and as expensive squads as Liverpool but a few nice sales has Liverpool below them in this chart

A live game without a fucking woman presenting or on the panel

bliss

Fulham 15th biggest spenders… unbelievable!! Deserve to go pop!!

Yes agreed, and thoughts with anyone going to a dull game today.  Especially Harrogate fans going to Portsmouth and Barrow going to Ipswich for the glamour of a quarter full stadium.

Part of assembling an expensive squad is being able to cash in and keep building

Liverpool are good at that, always have been

Buy Torres for £20m, sell for £50m

Buy Suarez for £22m, sell for £66m

Buy coutinho for £8.5m, sell for £105m

Salah was £36m, am sure they could make a tidy profit if they wanted

Ok andy carroll but generally they are adept in the transfer market

As are Chelsea

Everton are not

Perhaps the difference is, one of those teams buys a player to fit into an already good team which makes him look a better player.

The other team is Everton. They buy a good player, shoehorns him into a poor side, hope he makes the team good, he fails and his saleability suffers.

Thiago Silva. What a player.

I’d rather we were still in the FA cup and out of the Mickey Mouse cup.

And Liverpool are the 2nd biggest club in the country behind United

Liverpool turn over £500 million a year compared to Brighton's £150 million because they are a far bigger club.

Their turnover is the main reason for their financial power and expensive squad

I might be wrong but Everton's better players tend to be the ones they don't spend much on

They just don't half spend big on shite
