I'm not a fan of what I'm about to say because it's used unnecessarily at times. But Oldham is a proper northern club. Good to see them back in the league. Chuffed for 'em.

Non-league players are considered 'grass roots' so don't have to test, whereas clubs in the 92 have to do testing three times a week and remain in their training bubbles where possible.

So shouldnt we stop testing then? And, like pre covid, go to the hospital if you feel really ill, and if you are not that ill, get on with it!

It's all based on a hypothetical legal position really, for example if a Geordie Variant suddenly developed and they played Southampton away without testing then it spread like wildfire then the Premier League would be terrified of the court cases would follow.

It does make sense in so much as the rest of the country is (supposed to be) testing, and indeed we've got back to twice-weekly tests at work (with less than a handful of positive results over the last 12 months, it must be said), but if the FA went to a position of ending testing but make sure squads are 100% jabbed then I don't think there should be many arguments.

Israeli Premier League coming to the rescue a week earlier than usual. Always do a Nazareth and Bethlehem double on Christmas Day (wish I was joking).

Should do a treble including 3 wise men arriving! 🤣

International football is a joke, players with 200+ caps will be common place in the not too distant.

Crowds are getting bigger a lower league levels, empty seats becoming more common in prem games. Needs far more fans though both home and abroad, domestic and international games to vote with their feet

That's 12 days later. Uber camels were fckg slow back in the day.

Villa game off a little late in the day

How long does it take for these clubs to get results back? Surely timelines need to be in place no consideration for the supporters one bit

Not one game off in any of the leagues in Scotland? No Omercron there then? How does that work?

They aren't testing daily like in England.  Scots Prem have to test daily from Monday so currently don't have to, no idea if they're testing voluntarily though.

The Scots lower leagues are arguably the equivalent of our non leagues below the national league, probably don't have the funds for testing.

Have Blackburn fans accepted Mowbray yet or is he still boring and dour?  It must be awful to watch.

Probably over 2k blue noses too.

Radio Lancs we’re discussing the timeline of the Villa v Burnley postponement.

10.30 Villa applied to EPL to postpone game

12.15 EPL inform Burnley their game is postponed

12.45 media informed game is postponed.

Even local Villa fans would’ve set off by then.

Much of the issue, however, was the wording of the EPL statement which cites “Covid, other illness and injuries”  Radio Lancs were arguing that the other illnesses and injuries should play no part in the decision. A weakened Villa side, by any reason other than Covid, gives Burnley the opportunity to pick up vital points.

I wonder if the EPL spokesperson has said too much.

@Biggish Davewill be loving this Rovers revival 😂
