Having spending power is one thing, (see Chelsea, United, Spurs etc) to get a team to play like they do is something else, a joy to watch at the moment.

PSG too.

Peps spent 6 years building the team into the best since barca 2010.

They are every bit as good as that team too imo.

Without Pep its splattercash, big ego managers and bits of success here and there.

This lot have done it different.

Could not believe Man U didn’t go for him when they had the chance and he was available, that’s the only positive I can take from him turning shitty city into world beaters.

But they’re cunts as well…. Slightly less so but becoming more cuntish with every trophy… and that poznan bollocks sums up their rise of cuntishness.

All this city talk 🤢 🤢

Don't take it personally, it's just an appreciation of possibly the best team we've ever seen play in England.

This side would take Ferguson's treble winners and Wenger's invincibles to the cleaners.

Yep very good side, I think it’s hard to compare sides from different eras myself as the game changes in many ways

Should comfortably top the league soon Arsenal looked beaten from the off last night

As it is a thread about "today's games" then no issue about talking about city, nor anyone else.

Saw motd highlights, they were awesome. Happy to put a longet ball up to Haaland and bypass the press. His understanding with KDB in partucular is magnificent. Arsenal couldn't cope, and they seemed shot from the start.

Elsewhere, the Scouse Protection Review was working well.

Big Vincent being linked with Chelsea now

When he arrived at Burnley, VK and Pace put in a 3 year plan to get Burnley back in the prem but they did it in 1

Not sure if the plan extended to what happens when they get there i.e. now but I have a feeling that VKs Dutch and Belgian connections were to play a big part in their recruitment plans and to me that's all the more reason for VK to want to complete the project. Maybe it's not possible as the signings they would have earmarked for 2 years time are not available at this time?

I'd be amazed if they had a 3 year plan.  Burnley needed to get back in at the first time of asking.

Be amazed. They did.

Presumably to take the pressure of VK?

If I was a supporter of a moneybags club my joy in successes would always be tempered by that. However, in that situation I would hope we were a stylish outfit who played with a freedom. A bit of a footballing version of Rugby Union's 'Barbarians'.

To be fair to Citeh they do this & are a delight to watch most of the time.

If I'd been a City fan, watching them finish in any position from about 3rd to about 50th in the pyramid in the 80s and 90s, it would take some readjustment in my psyche to start every season thinking "will we finish 1st this year, or 2nd?".  It would really dull my enthusiasm.  And to know for absolute certainty you are playing the same teams and going to the same grounds every single year, barring 3 promoted teams.  I know a few City fans and they all look back fondly at their seasons in the 2nd and 3rd tiers, especially the promotion seasons under Keegan and Royle.  They'll never have those thrills again.

I'm not underestimating the joy they'll feel sometimes, and the champions league nights, but it wouldn't get my juices flowing half as much as supporting a "real" club like us.

Sounds small time, almost pure jealousy.

"Proper club"?

Yes they've got the money, but they have made it work, unlike a number of others.

Of course they will remember the lower division days with some fondness, but only because they came back relatively quickly.

Given a choice between league titles, league cup titles, fa cup titles and tilts at champions league, or promotion from the 4th division and 3rd, I know what I'd prefer.

I'm liking the way we're doing things now, sustainably etc, but being honest, we need to get up in the not too distant future, or the wave we're riding will decay to a ripple.

With respect that jealousy bit is a million miles from the truth.  Never crosses my mind for a second to be envious of another club and I'd surprised if many BW fans are any different.

I genuinely think promotion from 3rd or 4th tier gives me as much pleasure as City fans get from winning a title.  Course I'd be even more chuffed if we won a league title or FA Cup, but part of that would be in the context that we'd have done a Leicester (or Wigan) and experienced something we probably won't repeat.  Only my thoughts anyway, absolutely get anyone else feeling different.
