City or Real would go through the pair of these like a flock of sparrows.

We will find out. They should do but I bet they don’t in the final

Been bigging Tomori up for ages but in the games most English audiences will have seen him in, this and v Chelsea, he's having a total mare.

Probably because average players look good in a poor Italian league.

I love Italian football, its a great watch. But anyone thinking the standard is anywhere near those two last night or a good proportion of the premier league is miles off.

Josh Doig left from Hibs to Verona and said it wasn't as a big a step up as he was preparing for.

Now either you're right about Italian football, or Scottish football is far better standard than we all think it is

I'd go for the first.

Incredible fans and atmosphere though. Naples was absolute carnage last week.

As title defences go, Milan have been pretty feeble so many of their players look a shadow of last season.

Agreed. Only I cant stand a good proportion of the clubs in PL, whereas any time I watch any Serie A game it makes me want to go on holiday 😂

5 clubs in semi finals of European competition. Give it a rest pal.

There's some loons about. I sincerely hope that City and West Ham take two of the three available trophies. If the Italians lift a couple of them there'll be a few eating some humble pie on here. I suspect that they'll get one to save your blushes.

Think no Italian club winner of the CL in the last 12 years tells you where it’s at (and not many finalists either)

not saying it’s a crap league but it not a flood of the worlds best but they have some belting atmospheres

Maybe this year they have a winner but the other 2 semi finalists are streets ahead imo

42% of the European semi-finalists are from a 1 called Shite league.....time for some closed minded flag shaggers to wake up.

42%? and how many from other leagues?

England & Spain 17% each

Germany, Holland & Switzerland 8% each

Can you put it into a graph or pie chart?

The prospect of West Ham playing either Basel or Fiorentina in European final in a 19,000 capacity stadium. Insane fuckery from UEFA.

Very impressed with AZ - the ultimate "moneyball" team - in fact, Billy Beane is a 5% shareholder in the club.

Just goes to show how a small club like AZ can climb to 4th in the Eredivisie and play in a European cup competition with very little money comparatively. Wouldn't surprise me if they turn Wet Spam over.

Great article here if you haven't seen it already

Excerpt:

To the summer of 2021, West Ham's total revenue was £192.1m, compared to AZ's £19m (21.08m euros). West Ham's wage bill was £128.45m, compared to AZ's £14.13m (16.2m euros). London Stadium has a 62,500 capacity compared to AZ's AFAS Stadium, which holds 19,500.

He will have the full set then. Only the World Cup to go with Portugal.
